I might actually watch TV commercials if they had naked people in them! rofl

That commercial was awesome. Very well done. I wish they would air it in America so I could see it on a real TV, but it is still amazing. I love the girl busting out of the robot. Thank you for that.

(although you don't see anything more than the behind and the chest, thank god) you should live in france though, i lived there for two years, and almost all the adverts are full frontals of either nude men or woman advertising stuff.

I know Europe is more open with sexuality in their ads and culture, but even here in America the sexual references they have are still pretty blunt and there. I was told that it isn't as much of a big deal in Europe as it is in America, though I'm starting to think as I see more sexual lingo going around that it isn't a big deal here either.

I was told that it isn't as much of a big deal in Europe as it is in America, though I'm starting to think as I see more sexual lingo going around that it isn't a big deal here either. America is the #1 hypocrite when it comes to a lot of taboo subjects. The media here simultaneously glorifies and condemns sexuality and nudity, pretending to be both open-minded AND right-wing-friendly at the same time. I'm certain that the majority of my generation's (and the generations just before and long after mine) social problems stem from being raised on contradictions and lies.... Europe just seems to be more open with the natural aspects of sexuality and nudity, whereas America is fixated on the superficial aspects. Anywho, I'd suffer through the occasional man-butt commercial if it meant the occasional woman-butt commercial as well! (Trying to keep this PG13, haha!) It'd be a refreshing sign that this misguided country is finally opening up the collective mind, rather than just locking the screen door shut and claiming it's technically still open.

Sorry, but it's a pet peeve of mine: Darwin never argued for "Survival of the fittest", he didn't see it as the driving mechanism. Evolution had no direction save survival of the host until reproduction.
The differences in advertising bring up a great point. Tragically as I was taught this three years ago I can't remember the source, but in the '30s when it was all the rage to experiment with ethically dubious methods, there was a range done on children. Children under sexual maturity, so long as three was no physical contact, where almost always likely to "block out" sexually explict material. Violence was the opposite, so much so that in a few cases they tried to act it out. They were done on the continent, I can't remember which country, but I know it's bee cited as influencing a number of country's policies (esp those currently in the EU).
