I always saw her as a character with potential who tended to devolve into a stereotype.
I'd ask you guys to say why you like Rouge, but suspect I already know....

Ankors got a point. Lessee.... why do I like Rouge besides the fact that she's a female bat character and her knockers are huge. Well, her personality is pretty cool. I mean, she is greedy but she's also helpful. Plus, the girl can kick some serious butt!

Xagarath Ankor I always saw her as a character with potential who tended to devolve into a stereotype. I'd ask you guys to say why you like Rouge, but suspect I already know.... I mostly like her for her whit. True, she's a bit flirty; one of those lusty barfly-like girls, but she's coniving, clever, and sly. She does indeed have potential, and true she falls into a stereotype at times, but she's still a good character all in all, and she seemed to have more muscle (not neccessarily strength) than the guys, and my friends find that amusing. Bet you thought I was gonna mention her rack, huh?...wait.

Rouge has been in every sonic game Shadow's been and yet we don't know much about her background except that she's a treasure hunter and a goverment spy.

Prince Valon Rouge has been in every sonic game Shadow's been and yet we don't know much about her background except that she's a treasure hunter and a goverment spy. Given the rather dark and dodgy nature of Shadow's new eponymous effort, and the fact that it was Rouge who found the Shadow clones in Heroes, I'm hoping that we'll see more of her there. I'm not sure that she's a character who'd work so well if she wasn't as much of an enigma, but that ties more into my general opinion on her character, which I was going to save for a later, longer post. It's approaching 3am and my insomnia's wearing off...

I agree with you there. I like Rouge because of her whit, along with how she's manipulative. She also seems like a hard-a** chick who cares about no one but herself, but on the inside she does care for others, like how she displayed to Knuckles and Shadow in SA2 and Sonic Battle.
