He stopped and looked at her with a look of shock. How could he have been so stupid? He should have known she didn't drink coffee. He should have asked first anyways. What did she have at the café? He tried to remember, but nothing came out. Tea? Coco? SOMETHING?!
"Oh... sorry, silly me." He said and laughed in embarrassment.

Riley laughed, covering her mouth as she did to try to hide the blush and the slightly guilty look. It wasn't nice to tease him, she knew, but it WAS nice to hear him laugh. It had been the first time during the whole visit.
"But I would love to go out with you," she said, smoothing back her hair and figeting nervously.

He looked back up to her, a look of awe on his face. A bright smile then covered his face, it was the first time anyone's agreed to go out with him. This will be his first date!! Well, besides the dinner theater, but that didn;t end too well so he didn't want to classify it as a date. Dates shouldn't end in hospital visits.
"Great..." He breathed, he was beginning to wonder if he was dreaming.

Riley had long ago learned how to control her facial expressions (it was pretty importnat to do so in the ballet), and so even though her smile wasn't nearly as broad as Brodi's, her dark eyes sparkled.
She realized she was still holding his hand and let go, sitting back really quick, then busying herself with the box she had brought in with her.
"Oh! I brought this for you!" she said, setting the box on his lap.

He chuckled lightly, "You got me a gift? He asked as he looked from the box to her, "It isn't one of those dancing flowers is it?" He smiled and shifted his weight a little, wincing lightly.
He opened the box and peered inside. He took the teddy bear out of the box and smiled, laughing when he caught a glimpse of the drum sticks in his paw. "Oh that's awesome, I love it Riley." He looked over to her and reached out an arm to give her a hug.

Riley leaned in to let him wrap his arm around her and she made sure not to put too much pressure on his chest (afraid that it might hurt him).
"My parents got me a cute brown bunny when I was in the hospital." She pointed to the paw on the bear. "If you squeeze its hand, it sneezes." Riley couldn't help but giggle here. "It was the closest thing I could think to a sick sound."

He pressed the little bears paw and heard a child like sneeze. He laughed and looked back to Riley, "It's great." He said as he placed the bear next to him on the bed.
"Thanks a lot Riley" He smiled.

"Did you hear that they're still going to do the awards show next month?" She shook her head. "After everything that happened, I don't know how they think that's still a good idea, even if they have toned it down."
Riley eyed Brodi. She wondered if there'd be a way to convince him not to go. What if he hadn't been some random hit?

He arched an eyebrow, "There still going to do the awards? Man they must be desperate." he said as he shifted a little in bed, "I'd thing they would have canceled everything till they found the shooter." he laughed lightly.

"Yeah, you would think so, but I guess they're gonna risk it." She shrugged. "It sounded like it wasn't going to be as big affair as normal, though. Oh, and that one blogger was threatened, too. Lorenz?" Riley couldn't remember his whole name, and couldn't even remember having talked to him much. He seemed a little odd, though.
She shifted in her chair a little, then glanced back at the clock. "Oh, it's getting late, and I have a rehersal to be at." Riley smiled. "I'm going to be in a production of Swan Lake. I saw The Nutcraker over the holidays, and I wish I had realized they were doing shows. It would have been so much fun to be the Sugar Plum Fairy." She shrugged. "But now I know a place to tryout for ballet shows, so that's neat." Riley wondered if she seemed like she was babbling now. She felt like she was talking alot... "Hopefully, you'll get out of the hospital in time to see it."

He smiled, "Swan lake wow. Good luck, I've only seen it once, my mom brought all of us when I was 10. I had to go because she didn't think I was old enough to stay home alone." He laughed lightly, "Never did see the Nutcracker though. But hey, maybe next time you'll be able to try out." He said before a violent cough.
"I hope so too." He said as he uncovered his mouth, "I'm getting sick of this place. But thanks for coming to visit, it means a lot." He smiled and waved as she left the room.

"Oh, it was no problem," she said. "It was fun hanging our for awhile." Riley laughed a little. "I mean, it wasn't fun that you're hurt and stuff."
She waved as she left the room. "I'll try to come back soon."
