Aniki blinked, his mind mulling over Dystral with curiosity. She sat down, that must be a good sign, it usually meant the other was staying around for a while. He smiled again and this time tilted his head a bit playfully, "Ah, then I deeply regret that my weirdness is so contagious. If there is anything I can do to cure you of the infection, please feel free to inform me as such. But, if you do not mind it, then we shall just work with what we have, and enjoy what the fates have given us..." Aniki blinked again and listened to Dystral carefully, "It is alright if you do not know the meaning of your name. A name does not have to have a meaning to be beautiful; your name is a perfect example of that..."

Aniki paused and hesitated slightly, he did not really want to think about his sister at that moment, but... maybe talking about it would make him feel better? It was worth a try, so Aniki coughed and nodded, "No, I have a sister. But... she became a little too fond of having affairs with others, and left me. I never expected her to be with me all her life, but, I had hoped she would not dump me as unceremoniously as she did for the first pretty little female she spotted. Alas, infatuation can make even the most intellectual seem like nothing more than an animal. Though, I do not hold it against her, for I do not know what it means to find some one special, so I can not say I would not do the same to her if I did find such a thing... But, I have an innate feeling I wouldn't stoop so low..." Aniki ended with a small nod, his voice calm and patient, as though he were talking about nothing more serious than the weather. He rarely showed emotion, neither joyous nor depressive, that is just the way he is.

Dystral almost laughed. She thought this guy was rude at first, but now there were compliments. Very strange indeed. She smirked; feeling a bit more relaxed even though it was driving her crazy how hard this guy seemed to be to figure out. The lack of emotion wasn't helping either. It slightly annoyed her in fact. "Thanks I guess," She replied to the compliment.

Her smirk fell as soon as she heard things about the sisters. She wasn't too fond about the type of dragonfly. "Ah, so she was the type who pranced around looking for the one? How... cute." She narrowed her eyes and didn't seem to think it cute at all. "I know how it feels to be abandoned. I didn't really get to know the person in my family I was abandoned by, but it sure is annoying. Relationships are annoying in general actually..." She paused and studied Aniki for a moment. "You're not the easiest person to read. I bet you get that all the time."

It was Aniki's turn to chuckle a little bit at Dystral's comment about 'the one'. Aniki shook his head and replied "No, no... she never looked for 'the one'... She enjoys being free too much to ever look for some one to settle down with. I on the other hand, do not believe I would ever loose my freedom, for my significant other would surely like freedom just as much as I..." He trailed off, thinking about what Dystral said and nodded solemnly. He didn't like the thought of having been "abandoned" by his sister, but it didn't hurt him as much as the abandonment seemed to hurt Dystral.

Aniki understood that it was just his sister's nature, and she could not help but be herself any more than a bug could help having six legs or a rabbit could stop being afraid of it's hunter. "This family member that abandoned you, does not sound particularly pleasant... my sister was not a horrible person, she just... could not help herself. I am upset for her actions, though I never show it..." Aniki quirked an eyebrow at Dystral's last comment and replied levelly, "I do not often interact with others, I find the lack of intelligence amongst some of our brethren quite droll... I do not speak about you, so I implore that you do not take offense by my previous observation..."

Dystral rolled her eyes. Of course, it was that kind. "Oh, so, she liked the multiple, but not binding sort of relationships. Heh..." That was a life style Dystral had never given much thought to. She understood the want for freedom, heck she was all about being on her own with no one else to worry about, but she was not so keen about does that enjoyed affairs. She supposed if a dragonfly were honest about how long they intended a relationship to be it'd be alright, but...

"Mm... Yeah, it does often irk me," She casted her eyes away after she spoke. The more she spoke about it the more she felt like a hypocrite and got angry at her father. Dystral had left her family as well and often hated herself for her actions when she was younger, but she wouldn't admit it out loud and often found reason to blame her father for it. She knew that was stupid too, but was too proud to stop and fix it.

Her smirk came back and she looked back at Aniki, letting out a soft chuckle. "You also see how idiotic most dragonflies can be? We are the same in that sense I guess. I knew there was something different about you and I'm quite pleased that I'm right..."

Aniki watched Dystral closely, observing every eye roll, every glance cast to the side. It seemed that they longer they stayed on the subject of families and abandonment, the more and more on edge Dystral seemed to be. Aniki couldn't help but wonder why she did not keep eye contact after she commented on how her family "irked" her. It would lead to the possible conclusion that either she did not feel it was entirely her family's fault or... Aniki's analysis paused for a second as he observed that she was, obviously, alone and talked about her family as though she hadn't seen them in a long time.

Could it be that maybe she felt like she had abandoned her family as well? If that was the case, Aniki felt a bit guilty, but did not show it; guilty that he had made this pretty young female remember something she had obviously been trying to forget. So he simply replied pleasantly, "I believe though, that my sister is happy where ever she is. And I think that, as far as family goes, if she is happy, then I am happy for her as well, no matter what path she chooses."

He blinked happily, if one can blink happily, when Dystral's smirk reappeared on her face and she chuckled. It was nice to see this young lady happy, it was strange, it almost made Aniki happy. But, he never really felt emotions like that, so he just shrugged and replied, "I believe in the idiocy of close mindedness and immaturity. I have met elders that act like pups, which bewilders me to no extent." He nodded and continued, "And I'm quite glad I was able to please you, it is quite nice to have some one who shares at least a few of my ideals. Though I was not sure what to expect when we first met, it was a pleasant surprise when we began such an interesting conversation, versus the usual small talk dribble that one usually expects during a first meeting..."

(( XD *snickers since she is reminded of Lance at the one part*

Lance: Heeeeey. DX; ))

His words were comforting. Surprisingly comforting. It was like he knew what was troubling her and knew how to cheer her up a little. She hopped that her sisters and mother felt the same way that he did for her sister when it came to her. Maybe, just maybe they could forgive her for her selfishness when she was younger. Maybe... Part of her wanted to thank him for saying such a thing, but she would keep it to herself. She didn't want to let him in on her personal life anymore than she had already.

She laughed. "Small talk, yeah. Wasting breath on such meaningless words. It's all so boring. It's always good to get right to the point of the matter. Face it, no one cares about the weather and what not...." She found it easier to make eye contact again now that the conversation was moving away from "that" topic. Things felt a bit more comfortable... "And... I'm glad I met you too, I guess... Still don't know you too well or anything, but you know, feelings mutual."

Aniki graciously accepted Dystral's eye contact once she was comfortable enough to give it to him. He liked being able to see the eyes of whom he was talking to, it made making a point or conveying feelings so much easier. Though Aniki did not really "feel" much, there was the occasional expression that he simply could not pull off because he was so used to keeping a blank face. In such moments, Aniki's eyes could give away his feelings, no matter how placid and blank the rest of his demeanor may appear.

Aniki chuckled faintly, though his eyes gave away a greater mirth as he replied, "Ah yes, the point of matters. Beating around the bush can get so dreary, especially when the conversation starts to go in circles. However, I must disagree with you on the weather comment..." At this point a hint of sarcasm entered his voice, as though he were trying to be playful but wasn't sure how, "I for one, often can not tell what the weather is like. It is not uncommon of me to not know it is raining even when I am sopping wet or sunny when the sun is out..." He smirked, ever so slightly, hoping Dystral would catch his joke. It was difficult to make things sound like a joke, when he had so little emotion in his voice.
