Ninja Ranks

It takes a sertain # of posts to learn a new jutsu (# of posts for learning elements is in the Jutsu topic). And your character's rank desides what jutsu you can and can't learn. I may make a few exceptions, but you'll have to pm me about it. But that's a big 'may.'

Jutsu and ranks
Acadamy student - E and D rank
Genin - E, D, and one or two C ranks (pm me if you want to learn a B or A rank.)
Chuunin - E-C ranks (pm me if you want to learn a B or A rank.)
Special Jounin - E-B ranks plus one A rank (pm me if you want to learn a S rank.)
Jounin - E-A rank (pm me if you want to learn a S rank.)
Anbu - E-A plus three S ranks
Kage/Sannin - E-S ranks

# of Posts
Acadamy Student - Unexperienced so it'll take 4-5 posts to learn a E or D rank jutsu

- 2 posts to learn an E rank, 3 for D rank, and 5 for C rank.
Chuunin - 1 post for E, 2 for D, and 3 for C
Special Jounin - 1 post for E and D, 3 for C, 4 for B, and 6 for A
Jounin - 1 post for E and D, 2 for C, 3 for B, and 7 for A
Anbu - 1 post for E, D, and C, 3 for B, 5 for A, and 7 for S
Kage/Sannin - 1 post for E, D, C, 2 posts for B, 4 for A, and 6 for S

This is the rank system that all villages are to go by. They go from Academy Student to Kage. There are no made up ranks. Nicknames are not considered ranks.

Acadamy Student Info
User Image
This is if you want to start off as an Acadamy student. This is so that you may learn how to work the systems involved with learning jutsu, battles, weapon usage, etc. The academy is where would-be ninja start; they are not actually considered ninja until they graduate. Academy students take formal and practical tests of all sorts and are taught the basics. Basic weapon usage, such as kunai and shuriken, is commonly taught. Elementary ninja techniques, though they vary from village to village, are also taught. These include the Transformation Technique, Rope Escape Technique, Body Replacement Technique, Clone Technique, Exploding Tag: Activate, Cloak of Invisibility Technique.
Note: You won't be able to graduate unless there are two other Acadamy Students who can be your teammates.

rules

arrow Students may only learn techniques that are E - ranked and D - ranked. If a student has a high chakra yeild they may start training on a C - ranked technique.

arrow Students may only fight against other Academy Students. This is because the student is just learning the basics.

arrow Students may not go on or request a mission. They are also forbidden to leave the village.

Genin Info
User Image
(下忍, Genin; Literally meaning "Low Ninja", Meaning (Viz) "Junior Ninja") are the lowest level of ninja and also the ones that display the most difference in power. When they become Genin, ninja start to do their bit for their village's economy – being sent on missions that the village gets paid for. They are typically sent either on D-rank missions, which are the lowest rank and are almost entirely risk-free jobs of manual labor, or, very rarely, on C-rank missions, which are a cut above that and begin to verge on real "ninja" work – though they generally have a very low possibility of risk to the ninjas involved, especially since their Jonin level sensei often accompanies them. If the genin has a high chakra yeild and high chakra control they may train to learn a B - ranked technique. If a student is considered a prodigy the Genin may start training an A - ranked technique. Once a student passed the Graduation Exam, they are given a headband with the village symbol. They must wear the village headband at all times. This rank is still a student but they know the basics and are now ready to use them in real life. The students are no longer in the academy and are now considered ninja.

rules

arrow Genin may learn either E - ranked, D - ranked, or C - ranked

arrow Genin are chosen by Jounin to form a four man cell. The Jounin chooses the missions that the Genin are to go on.

arrow Genin may go on missions at the discretion of their Jounin Instructor, or if assined by the Kage of their village. The highest rank a Genin may go on is actually C - ranked but during emergencies they may go on any mission below S - ranked.

arrow Genin may participate in the Chuunin Exams only if the Jounin Instructor deems them able and if they have gone on atleast five missions, two of which have to be C - ranked or higher.

Chuunin Info
User Image
(中忍, Chûnin; Literally meaning "Middle Ninja", Meaning "Journeyman Ninja") are ninja who are qualified to watch over and guide other ninja. Chunin have reached a level of maturity that primarily consists of leadership skills and tactical prowess. This is because the Genin who don't have the skills to become Chunin are weeded out in testing. Some of them, like Iruka Umino and Mizuki, function as teachers and others, like Shikamaru Nara, serve as team leaders in charge of small teams who need to make decisions and utilize the skills of the shinobi under their command to the maximum effect. Chunin are typically sent on C-rank missions or B-rank missions. Sometimes, they may become teachers at the Ninja Academy Once a Genin has passed the Chuunin Exams and the Kage of their village sees that they are ready the for the rank. At Chuunin rank jobs become available and so do better missions that pay more. This rank is sent on more missions than any other rank in the village besided Jounin.

rules

arrow Chuunin may learn any technique ranked as E - ranked, D - ranked, C - ranked, or B - ranked. If they have high chakra control and high chakra yeild they may train a technique that is A - ranked. Prodigy may train in S - ranked techniques.

arrow Chuunin may go on missions that are E - ranked, D - ranked, C - ranked or B - ranked. They are rarely allowed to go on A - ranked or S - ranked missions unless there is an emergency. Chuunin may also lead missions.

arrow Chuunin may get a job such as ANBU-opt, Academy Teacher, Medical Nin, Ninja Cook, or just open your own place. However if you choose to open your own place you will stay at the rank you are until you close the place down or pass it on.

arrow Chuunin get a village jacket that they have a choise in wearing. They also don't have to wear the village headband anymore. However the only exception to this is an Academy Teacher. They must wear their headband and jacket at all times.

arrow Chuunin can be appointed to the rank of Special Jounin if they have acceled in a certain area of skills such as Survival, Research, Strategic Ability, Private Teacher, etc. This appointment is made by the Kage of the village.

arrow Chuunin may take a Jounin test in which they will have to pass a written test and go on an S - ranked mission with three Jounin. However even if the mission is completed, it is based on how you acted and what you did to aid in the mission. With that being said if you are beaten to a bloody pulp and you didn't pass the mission you fail and may try again for the test the next year. The only other way is if the Kage of your village deems you strong and wise enough to become a jounin.

Special Jounin
User Image
(特別上忍, Tokubetsu Jōnin; Literally meaning "Special High Ninja"; sometimes known as Tokujō for short) are ninja who, rather than all-around Jonin training, have Jonin-level ability in a single area or skill, much like warrant officers of real-world militaries. They are elite specialists in their areas and are often assigned as subordinates to regular Jonin when their services are needed. Ninja Jobs/positons - There are several classifications for ninja. Some, you must be at a sertain rank to acheave.

User Image
ANBU Must be at Jounin level to become Anbu
The ANBU (暗部, ANBU; Viz "Black Ops", English TV "ANBU Black Ops"; Literally meaning "Dark Side") is actually short for ANsatsu Senjutsu Tokushu BUtai (暗殺戦術特殊部隊, Ansatsu Senjutsu Tokushu Butai; Literally meaning "Special Assassination and Tactical Squad"). The name is a form of contraction, similar to English acronyms like SWAT, where the two kanji used to abbreviate the group's full name constitute an actual word on their own.

User Image
Hunter-nin Anbu only
Hunter-nin (追い忍, Oinin; English TV "Tracker Ninja") are a special team within Kirigakure's ANBU, given the specific duty of hunting down missing-nin. They kill their target, taking the head as proof, and then completely dispose of the body by using various methods, such as cremation or the summoning of wild carrion crows to devour the corpse. This is done in order to make sure the village secrets which a ninja's body holds — such as chakra types, herbs eaten, Ninjutsu, special medicine, and kekkei genkai — will not be revealed to outsiders.

Medical-nin Genin and up
Medical-Nin (医療忍, iryō-nin) are ninja who specialize in medical treatment and use of medical-oriented jutsu to heal others. Becoming a medic-nin requires high intelligence and excellent chakra control. A medic-nin is trained to avoid getting injured in any way, for the reason that if they are injured, then there would be nobody to heal the others. If they are forced into combat, they make use of their chakra control to enhance their taijutsu skills. Medic-nins accompany other ninja on high ranking missions to increase the survival rate of the squad.

Cooking-nin Genin and up
Cooking-Nin (ryouri ninja) are ninja who specialize in cooking. They walk around in forests and paths outside villages, waiting for hungry ninjas to walk past. When they find a hungry ninja team, they make all kinds of good food for them, but as Hakaku makes such good food, they can't stop eating it, and become very fat. They only work in the Land of Thunder. Being so fat, the ninjas started to say: "Who needs Cooking-nins". Hakaku wanted Teuchi's "Demon" recipe but it turned out to only be the disposal of the bitter taste of the soup

ANBU Black Ops and ANBU ROOTS

Black Ops
Uniform
The ANBU wear porcelain animal masks in order to distinguish themselves from normal shinobi and to conceal their identities. They also have standard uniforms consisting of black and gray armor, arm guards, and a signature spiral tattoo on their left shoulder (Female ANBU members have the tattoo located on their right shoulder to determine gender between the ANBU members). Certain ANBU wear black cloaks over their standard uniforms, and squad leaders may wear white cloaks.

Purpose
ANBU protect the village from exceptional threats, conduct high-risk missions into enemy countries, and deal with extremely strong ninja. They are also responsible for carrying out assassinations and missions requiring specially trained ninja. Unique for most characters in Naruto, all ANBU carry Ninjaken, which are usually strapped to their backs, and they all know the layout of the human body in detail. By using Temporary Paralysis Technique, ANBU members can paralyze an opponent, leaving them open for attack. With Time Reversal Technique, an ANBU can put someone in a state of reverse hypnosis, allowing them to remember details that they otherwise would not. They serve under the direct command of their Kage. ANBU are also sworn to leave nothing behind of their bodies if they die on a mission, as shown on episode 90 of shippuuden.

The specialized ANBU branch, Foundation or "Root" works under Danzo and includes Sai. They wear different colored capes from standard ANBU and are trained to lose all emotion. They are also not allowed to question Danzo's authority. In the Pain invasion arc they are stopped by Danzo from helping the villagers of Konoha.

Known ANBU members
Danzo (leader of Konoha's ANBU "Foundation")
Ibiki Morino (head of the Konoha's ANBU Torture and Interrogation Squad)
Itachi Uchiha (former Konoha ANBU captain at the age of 13)
Kakashi Hatake (former Konoha ANBU captain)
Raiga Kurosuki (formerly ANBU member for Kirigakure)
Sai (member of Konoha's ANBU "Root")
Yamato (undercover as a Jonin)
Yugao Uzuki (girlfriend of Hayate Gekko)
Zabuza Momochi (formerly assassination expert for Kirigakure)
Towa (Clash of Ninja Revolution 2)
Komachi (Clash of Ninja Revolution 2)
Otomatsu (Member of Konoha's ANBU under the codename Raido. Witnessed the battle between Orochimaru and Hiruzen Sarutobi, the 3rd Hokage, during the Invasion of Konoha. In the filler, he and his team interrogated Naruto about Genno.)

ANBU "Root"
Root (Ne) is an ANBU training department that was founded by Danzo. Unlike normal ANBU, they carry a tipless Tanto instead of a Katana. This is an extremely strict group, since Danzo trained the members to lose their emotions. Each member has a codename and never reveal their true name. Sai's actual name is unknown thus being Codename: Sai. They are later on sent on secret missions that are never revealed what they are.

Goals
Conqure Konoha and make Danzo Hokage- How they plan to do this is unknown. Tsunade doesn't trust Danzo, but the Elders do
