Nafeeza had had a delightful hunt. She hadn't had to look to far before she found a young rabbit futting around in the snow. It was just a small thing, not full grown. She'd followed that one to a whole hutch. It had been easy to kill the whole litter of babys and the adult mother. Naf ate the babies, and carried the big one back for Keefe.
But as she came upon the den again, she saw what she had suspected when she'd left. Keefe was feasting off a kill Feanaro had layed out. She saw the alpha female as well, but she had never been interested in red meat, strangely enough. It was a good thing though. The younger rabbits had hardly filled her adult appetite.
She nodded at the two wolves as she approached, looking sheepish.

Keefe smiled through the chunks of meat he was swallowing, Naf had an eye for him, of course he knew that already, but his day was just getting better and better. The male gulped down a few more bites and lifted himself from his belly while licking the blood from his chops. He was quite full, but he hadn't over eaten, that never prooved to be good if he had places to go.
The thoughts that usually flew around his head had finally touched down, things made more sense, he wasn't as worried. Talking to Fea was always a good idea. With another flick of his tounge, Keefe looked to his alpha,
"How've you been? What's been going on while I was away?"

Once again, that lovely scent that had been hounding him for the past twenty-four hours wafted in strongly, she was back. Keefe peeled his gaze from Feanaro and scanned the horizion. And there she was, with a rabbit in her mouth, coming towards them slowly. The dark males took a few steps away from his alpha and wagged his tail at the sight of his mate. He then looked behind him to Feanaro before trotting off to greet Naf,
"She's back!"
When he reached her, he nuzzled her, trying not to spread the blood that covered his pelt. He then smiled and eyed her kill,
"Nice catch... I found out what was wrong... And really, nothing's wrong..."
There he went, getting all mixed up with his words again.

Feanaro lifted his head as Naf approached, giving her a welcoming nod. She, like Keefe, was free to feed as well. He had eaten his fill from the kill and there was still plenty to be had. Of course the crows all had finished their bit of the kill and watched hungerly from their perches among the ground, a few of them waddling off to pick at the ground for worms and small beetles.
He looked back to Keefe, his ears lowering a bit. "Disturbing ...and joyful news from our brother pack at the lake...", his ears lowered along the cuff of his neck, "Gaara was attacked... ambushed when making a peaceful visit to Haku's pack." The growl in his voice was unable to be hidden, his eyes burning from the memories of that wicked pack, "He returned alive... but badly wounded. An insult to his pride and to ours."
"On the other hand.", he glanced to the two, "They now have a young seer in their servace... along with a pair of two-leggids that do well in fending off enemy wolves- the larger one anyway. I would like to arrange a meeting of our packs to discuss a course of action in light of these events... the attack could be a foreshadow to their future plans. A seer might be able to confirm or deny our fears."

Nafeeza smiled around the rabbit at Keefe. She nodded, brushing his fur as she moved pass. She set the rabbit down next to the other kill and began tearing into it as Feanaro spoke.
She looked up as Feanaro spoke of the two-legs. She had never seen a two-leg before. She imagined them to be something like bears, the way they could rear up and walk on their hind legs. However, the way Fea described them, they must have had a much more milder temper than bears.
She had no stake in the conversation. She knew nothing about the other packs, or why an attack on them had anything to do with the moutain valley pack.

"Fighting, again Feanaro?" She came close to the others, but stopped short of them and took a seat outside the feeding grounds; for whatever reason she felt no need to eat. "I'm not sure if you're doing this because you want revenge, or if you really are interested in protecting the packs." She straddled the fence on many of the decisions her mate made in most situtations given his attitude about nearly every wolf he had come in contact with. He had a vengeful attitude that never impressed her.
She knew that conflict was unavoidable when resources were limited, but it seemed majority of these fights stemmed from a personal disagreement that never ended. She didn't enjoy the thought of having to protect herself against a wolf because s/he and Fae had a disagreement, and unpleasant words were tossed.
It was useless violence.
"But, I guess you must do what it is you think is right."

"Truthfully, love...", he looked to his mate as she joined them, licking her cheek tenderly, "It is a little of both.... I cannot stand the throught of my son being mauled like that, it's an obvious insult to him and his pack... and any insult to our brother-packs is an insult to us. Not only that but their pack is noteably larger than the both of ours put together... I do not want them getting it into their minds that we can be pushed around in such a way." He growled at the very notion. Haku... that b*****d. "But if you wish, I will send one of my crows to further look into the situation..."
He paused a moment then glanced about, "Has anyone seen Yang?" He hadn't seen the black wolf in some time come to think of it. He had known Keefe and Naf would be leaving for a time, finding their families... but Yang he assumed had just found himself a spot in the lands for himself to be alone. Even then he expected a glympse or two.

"I suppose your right." She looked at the ground, laying herself down and getting comfortable. It was hard to argue. She agreed that it was unecassary to attack a wolf in numbers or really at all, but it was a double-edge sword. She felt retaliation wasn't exactly the most righteous thing to do either. It drove her mad sometimes. She felt like she was the only one that ever felt both sides were wrong. All she wanted to do was live peacefully in this land, not constantly have to watch her back. It seemed like a fleeting dream, of course.

Keefe's ears swiveled back to Feanaro at his words. Gaara, he didn't know this Gaara, but Feanaro spoke fondly of him, Keefe assumed it was best to just nod along with what was being said. Two legs, he remembered two legs. Back when he was a young pup, when Feanaro first found him, he had a two leg pup with him. It was an interesting sight, nothing he was very fond of though. He nodded at Fea's words, whatever his alpha decided to do, he'd be behind it one hundred percent, no ifs, ands, or buts.
Keefe turned and sat next to Nafeeza, his side touching hers. It was then that he noticed that Feanaro's mate appear. The young male's brow furrowed, he wasn't terribly familiar of her either. Her ways were strange, rather docile for a wolf. Keefe found it all very alienating. As 'Eeza prefered to not converse with Feanaro, Keefe prefered not to be too close with his mate. By god he respected her, but he wasn't too fond of her. There was a bit of jealousy in his mind, of how Feanaro looked up to and respected her, but it was all in his head. He wasn't one to express feeling or anything of the sort. With a huff, he leaned his head toward Naf and leaned it on her. Amber eyes darted back to his alpha as he asked where Yang was. Keefe had to think for a few minutes, Yang? There was a Yang around here?

(--Slight Time Jump--)
Once the word was given, Kendrick bolted free from the main den that had been his whole world for the first few weeks of his life. Of course, his steps were clumsy and really, his small legs weren't getting him anywhere in any kind of haste like the older wolves were capable of, but in his own mind's eye he was racing like mad. The pup turned, catching his father's watchful eyes from atop the main den. Kendrick hadn't slept well that night having been promised by his father that in the morning he and his siblings would be allowed to play outside so long as they kept within their father's protective line of vision. For an older pup this might be a bit of a bother but to him it meant freedom.
"C'mon then!" He called over his shoulder, the small tail flapping wildly behind him. He was the first out of the den, no doubt soon followed by the other two of his siblings and perhaps even his mother. The weather was favorable at least. Some clouds but not enough to do much else than cast their lazy shadows along the ground of the clearing and on the distant hills leading into the mountain walls.
Giving a snort to further display his impatiance, Kendrick turned his gaze on the rest of the landscape. From his heigh he couldn't see much past the stream that ran around the main den much like a moat and the strangely organized wooden 'strings n' logs' that hung from one bank to the other. Still, it was more than he'd known in the den.
The alpha watched from where he laid in the sun on his den, a thin but proud smile upon his maw. Soon they'd be old enough to begin training... he had trained himself from puphood... first lesson would definately be swimming and fighting the water. With a long sigh he lowered his head to his paws, watching his pups though his mind had strayed back to thoughts of his own puphood. His family slain before his eyes, he had stumbled into the freelands. The very first wolf he had met was another his age... she had chosen to stand herself on an unsteady log and it was he that pushed her from it, falling into the river. That river had nearly taken many wolves- including him. He had saved them all, Selia countless times. It had done wonders for his strength- at least that could be gained from the past.

The young female stood frozen in fear, pushed as far against her mother as possible. Outside had been a mystery to her, but she debated now whether or not she was ready. There were living things out there, and they might mean to hurt her! She whimpered, falling through Kahlaria's legs as she took a step, sending her into a small roll and flopping into a frog-like position. She stood up before anyone might have noticed and proudly raised her head next to her mothers. She'd walk alongside her, pretending the outside world was of no concern of hers.

Not far from the dens there was a mound of grassy earth, a mound on which a dark, purple wolf laid on. His eyes were narrowed against the glare of the sun and his ears pinned back. He was watching the scene unfolding a good distance before him. Feanaro's pups were finally emerging from their den. He hadn't seen those pups since they had been born, and he wasn't exactly in a hurry to meet them again either. He had known their names a while ago, but had forgotten them in the time that had passed. The male wasn't exactly sure how he was supposed to act around the heirs to Feanaro's legacy. He felt uncomfortable.
With a sigh, Keefe turned his head to the left and then to the right, his amber eyes scanning the horizion for his own mate, Nafeeza, but alas, she was no where to be found. There was a pang of worry in his chest, but it soon faded, they were on Feanaro's lands, she was safer here than anywhere else, and that comforted him.
Keefe's eyes reverted back to the den where he watched as a bright colored little pup trotted out. He wasn't sure which one this was, one of the little males if he remembered correctly. Keefe sighed again, laying his head down on his paws and keeping his eyes on the den. Perhaps if he stayed up here, they wouldn't notice his presence just yet.

"Come now, your brothers are outside waiting for you.. there's nothing there that might try and eat you little one.. except maybe your father..." Kahlaria took a step back, taking the squirming pup. She knew Fea pretending to be a bear and stalk the little female around the den would lead to some complications, but she'd soon learn that the cave was more of a prison.
The two of them joined Kendrick at the mouth of the cave, and Kahlaria purposely dropped Chaska ontop of him. While the two of them struggled to get untangled, she scanned the hills in search of any other members of the pack. Her eyes caught Keefe rather suddenly, as though he had appeared out of no where. The two of them hadn't spoken much, and when they had it was rather ackward. He never seemed impressed with her, and she respected his personal space and therefore never forced him to engage in conversation. She thought she had been very kind to him ever since his arrival, ignoring maybe her pregnancy; but then again, no wolf was always so pleasant.
Regardless, she nodded to him as her tail swished gently behind her.
