Jade smiled slightly as he was glad that he could heal Aron. He just wanted to make up for him being injured because of him. This was the least he could do and he placed his hands on the wound once again. His hands glowed again with the same warming and healing light as before. Aron would feel the pain start to hurt less and less as his wound slowly started to heal. Such a big wound would take a lot out of Jade but, he was willing in order to keep Aron alive. "You're right about that Aron... a happy family." He said with a slight chuckle knowing that Aron was being sarcastic. His hands were already covered in Aron's blood as it had soak through his clothing but, at the moment that didn't bother him.

Draqx had been walking along, using the light to navigate his way so that he would not trip over anything in his path. He had been calmly walking along when he felt as if something was near, he looked about to see if he could see anything, but as his attention drew away for where he was walking murphy decided to give a reminder about not losing focus...
The spider web was abandond, and as it was not fresh the dew drops which might have warned Draqx about were not there, so he got a face full of webbing right when he was turning his face and his mouth open about to ask if anyone was out there. Needless to say Draqx was not amused, and spent the next few moments trying to get the taste of cobweb from his mouth and to clear his face of the web that he ran into.
'Blech, webs are definatly not supposed to do that, blah.'
Draqx pulled a string of web off his tounge, and then tried to flick it off his fingers, though the web was persistant on clinging to his digits.

About half way to Aron, Renee glanced back behind her at the tree she left Alexis and cursed. She was gone, Alexis was gone, Renee groaned, Aron was going to kill her, literally kill her when he found out she let Alexis get away. Groaning again she let the cat in her take over, she sprinted towards the direction and when she got to the tree she paused to take in the girl's scent. Like a hound she was able to pick the direction Alexis ran off to. 'What in the world was she thinking!?' she thought to herself as she ran after Alexis, 'What was I thinking?' she shook her head, she should have brought Alexis with her as she went to get Aron and Jade. Renee growled slightly as she ran forward. She saw Alexis's figure in the distance with a fire beyond her, Renee took a deep breath and sprinted forward faster, she didn't want the girl to be caught up with strangers. You can't really trust anyone you meet out in the desert, she was catching up the girl, but she wasn't sure she'd reach her in time before she got to the fire.

Aron snorted. "Just get it overwith..... oh ********..." Aron had been watching the figures in the distance move. One was moving towards them, the other, got up and moved off, then the figure coming towards them ran off and he winced. "s**t... get me patched, up, if it reopens what ever! That idiot left Alexis and she wandered off!" Aron would have bolted but he would have hit the ground instead. He needed to wait but he was having great difficulty trying to restrain himself.
While Renee went to get Alexis, she was already approaching Draqx. "Um.. hello there..." Alexis called out, although she could see the light, the dark night made sight very difficult... as for Draqx's thought of the webs being abandon... he was far from right. Suddenly the ground started to shake and a massive spider, almost as big as a house burst from the ground and rushed towards Alexis who screamed loudly and fell backwards trying to protect herself with her arms. It was a giant trapdoor spider! Hissing and chirping, its eyes focused on its prey, Draqx had alerted it to movement when he broke its webs, and when it came out, it went for the closest thing, which happened to be Alexis although the spider suddenly stopped, turned around and focused on the light of Draqx's fire and hissed loudly and made a loud chirping cry, saliva dripped from its massive fangs which could easily kill a person with a single bite as it seemed to be thinking of who to eat.
Aron forced himself up at the scream of Alexis and seeing the massive shadow in the distance he drew his sword. "Healing later!" Was all he said as he charged forwards to try and help Alexis. "Damn it, I thought there was something odd about those trees... webs and yet nothing else around.... figures a spider of the large kind!"

Renee ran forward and growled, she didn't stop running as she grabbed the girl around the middle, and took her a ways away. She looked at Alexis, "Why did you run off?" she shook her head and glanced back at the spider with a growl. "Go back the way you came, you'll run into Aron. This time don't run off." she took off again and took out her tiger claws from her hips, the situation called for more damaging blows. Renee kept one eye on Alexis and the other on the spider, as she got closer she grabbed onto a web and ran up to the spiders back with a grin. Straddling the large spider she began to hack and slash at it's back. She was angry that Alexis ran off, wether it be for a noble cause, or just plain lack of the brain she didn't care, she shouldn't have put herself at risk. She growled again as she took her frustration out on the spider.

Draqx saw the spider burst out and took a deep breath as the fight or flight response kick in full, adrenaline flowing into his blood and time seeming to slow. When the spider turned to face Draqx he clenched his walking stick in a white knucled grip and did the first thing that came to mind...
...he screamed...
well to put it politly it was more of a yell, or maybe more accuratly the act of emptying the lungs as quickly and as loudly as possible. But however you might put it, it was a primal sound, unable to be accuratly described with mere letters alone.
what happened aside from the crystal in his staff brightening considerably at the sound and the grip pushing down of the dimmer dial causing full brightness was to focus the sipders attention on Draqx. This caused the Draqx to have the brief fragmentary thought to flash in his mind before the world seem to speed up again.

Jade focused as much as he could on healing Aron because he knew that his 'patient' wouldn't wait around very long. "Just... try to stay alive long enough to be of use." He let out a slight laugh due to their current situation, things just weren't going as planned, and they didn't seem to be in much position to fight. Jade stopped his healing as he heard Alexis' scream. Knowing that Aron wouldn't stick around long, he needed to conserve his energy. Jade nodded slightly as Aron got up and told him to heal him later. "Alright, do your best Aron. I'll try my best to catch up, so, don't worry about me!" He yelled a bit louder so Aron could hear him as he ran off.
As he was alone he let out a slight sigh and slowly got to his feet before ending up back on the ground. "Shoot, seems that I'll need to take a slight break." Jade laughed weakly at his perdicament and as he looked forward his vision got slightly blurry. "Well, this is sure new... I probably overdid the healing, it was worth it though. Now, cmon Jade, you need to get back up, you can't let anybody from the city find you... just get up, once your safe, you can rest. Until then..." Jade worked up the strength to get up to his feet. "Get up, and keep going." He said to himself as he used one hand to push against Dea's outside wall as he slowly made his way after Aron.

It did not take long for the spiders focus to change. Its beady little eyes darted up as Renee leaped onto its back and started to hack at its skin. I wasn't doing much, the beast seemed to have a hardened carapace but it still felt the poking and prodding and it hated it!" Forcing itself up, it lifted four of its eight legs into the air and thrust them down and then brought its rear up and did the same, a very sickening attempt to buck Renee off. Pearl white fangs dripped green liquid onto the ground which made small but noticeable hisses, it was venomous and by what they were doing, you didn't want these sword sized fangs going into your body. Shrieking loudly the spider started to run around as it continued its attempts to throw Renee off its back.
Aron was quick to Alexis' side as he slid to a stop and got between Alexis and the now mad spider stomping around. Renee had things under control for the moment, as control a massive rampaging spider in the general area could be. Aron smirked a little and looked at Alexis and then fell to his knee. "Damn, that stings... Alexis, you ok?"
Alexis quickly grabbed Aron and tried to hide herself behind him. "Eww, eww, eww!" Alexis was squirming and shaking, a mixture of terror and natural reaction. The reaction seemed to be larger then the terror. Eyes full of tears Alexis tried to not look at the spider thinking about how close she had come to being somethings dinner, or what ever meal time it was. It took her a few moments to realize Aron was in pain but the spiders horrific outcries prevented her from speaking as she flinched and covered her ears. The sound to her was unnerving and unbearable, she wanted it to go away, nothing else mattered to her.
Aron was a little surprised by her reaction, but didn't think more on it, he had to deal with this creature, his fire magic would have done it, but he was still too tired to use it, Renee would have to handle it, healed partially he needed to build himself up before he acted or it would get himself killed. He needed his magic, and needed it soon...

Draqx mind flashed, now no longer the arachniods main target he had a moment to think, and his mind fought furiously to combat his instincts, allready Draqx could feel the onset of achs in his limbs as things started to change, his control managing barely to prevent a full shift, but not enough to completely stop it.
His initial reaction was one of fight or flight, and normally he was not the most skilled in ether, but he had certain natural advantages that could help overcome it, but he had to be careful useing them. Draqx could feel the buildup of energy that he could not hold back, small blisters starting to form under the sleeves of his labcoat on his arms as the ill controled energy almost ozzed out of the skin on the arms.
Draqx concentration was further pulled as the need to breath was making itself felt, the shifting using up what little oxygen that was in his emptied lungs while his ribs changed subtly. The change was not something one would notice, the labcoat and long cloths hiding almost all of it, and the light from the small cyrtal at the end of his staff flikering as the internal power scource was being drained rapidly made a strobelike effect casting a confusing play of light and dark on his face.
Draqx had two choices at the moment, ether keep a hold of his breath, his lungs feeling as if on fire, and collapse unconsious... or he could give into to thw chage more and help... the potential damage of the uncontrolled energy building up would cause an immence amount of pain, and Draqx would have to hide the wounds unless he wanted uncomfortable questions asked.
Draqx thought he could control things enough for one good strike, but after that the risk of burnout would leave him in a most precarious position... but he could hardly not assist if he wanted assistance later on... in effect he had no real choice, no matter how much he wanted more options.
Draqx kept his hands and head as stable as he could and let the rest of his body change, feeling the ones thin and elongate slightly, and the energy race along the covered skin, in some spots charring it like the crust of a loaf of bread. The only thing that kept him from screaming was that he was breathing inwards and he planted his feet as best as he could and waited half moment as the running arachnoid came close to him.
Draqx took a step to bring him into the path of the 8 legged creature, Draqx feeling the skin around his joints crackling and opening, and Draqx thrust the glowing end of his staff at the underside of the arachnoids exoskeliton and let the energy built up in his arms flow through the staff.
The staff, though well made, it was not made for the inflex of energy like this, and the part of the design that made it able to collapse melted, fusing the staff as it was. The energy continued to the cylinder at the end of the staff and was focus in on the small crystal. The crystal was a inexpensive one used for lighting areas, and was not made for the type or the amount of energy that flowed into it all at once in a pulse as the regulators in the cylinder failed. The crystal lasted for the briefest of moments, absorbing the energy like a sponge with water poured over it, but when it could absorb no more the crystal failed and cracked, but that was not the end of it, the energy rushed into the cracks and what was left of the crystal and still came, cracking it to the smallest of luminescent shards and glowing dust dust linked by flows of cracking energy.
in less then the blink of an eye the top 20 cm of the staff vanished in a rapidly expanding globe of energy blasting forth in an explosion reflecting off the ground and the exoskelition blasting in a compressed toroid shape outwards. Draqx was picked up by the wave being so close and flung into the brush and hitting his head on a tree, the darkness of unconciousness reaching towards him promising a pain free rest as blood started to trickle out of the myriad of small punture wounds caused by tiny fragments and shrapnel. The end of the staff quivered, embedded like a spear in the trunk of the tree at which Draqx lay, his eyes slowly closing.

Jade had continued to walk even though it was slowly he wasn't that far away and could see the situation through the trees. Jade decided that it would be better to get there and rest as they took care of the spider then take his time and seem like he was a burden to the group. He came to the clearing just after he saw a bright flash of energy it seemed. His eyes looked toward Renee and then to Aron and Alexis, she was alright thankfully. Then his attention turned to Draqx and he let out a slight sigh. "Can't you guys stay uninjured for at least a second." He said under his breath as moved over to Draqx.
Looking toward the scientist he could see that he had been knocked unconcious. "Hey, if you can hear me, it's probably better to try and stay awake." He said with a clear worry in his voice. Jade's eyes were looking at the head injury and not sure if he should try and heal it and use up most of the rest of his energy in the process, or not and save his energy. The smart way would have been to save his energy but, that was never Jade's way of doing things. "I better try and heal that head injury." He got closer and his hand slowly glowed as Draqx's injury to his head was slowly being healed and he had the palms of his hands just above his wound. "You'll... be okay... in a bit." He was clearly feeling the effects of using most of his energy but, he was focused on doing the best he could.

Draqx in his near unconsious state could not stop his shift, his body reacting with the healing energy and resonating with it, his body changed shape, and this time the hands and head changed to to take on the appearance of the one that was heraling him.
While the healing energy closed his wounds from the scrapnel and mended the blow on his skull, the pain was not dulled in the slightest, but was in fact intensified. It was too much and after a weak groan and his eyes flashing open, in time for the change to reach his eyes, he lost his grip on consiousness and his eyes took on a glazed over look as the changes slowed and then stopped. after a moment they started to reverse ever so slowly back to what was normal for Draqx, the first noticable being the eyes changing back just before the lids closed on the unseeing organs.
then Draqx seemed to slump as the shifts foved his limbs slightly in ways that they would not normally move under his cloths creating an odd effect, at the same time, the built up healing energy from within Draqx with no attachment point inside left radiated out, and gravitated towards its new contanct point, one with the same resonance. There are several schools of mages that will store thier excess energy up in things like specialty crystals and other means and when needed it can be tapped into as a reserve, but even then, a sudden influx unexpectedly of thier own resonance of energy would take even masters by surprise at the best of times.

Jade at first felt a little strange as he started to heal Draqx. He wasn't sure if there was anything wrong, maybe just cause he never used up this much energy before. Either way, Jade ended up continuing until the energy radiated out of the person he was healing. It was quite the surprise that he felt like he just ate a couple of liters of sugar. His eyes opened a bit wide as he quickly stopped the healing and could feel his heart racing a bit. "D-Damn... what is this feeling... I feel so strange, what just happened... what is this guy?" Jade blinked slightly as he seemed to be on a massive sugar rush without even eating anything sweet.
Jade looked toward Draqx and let out a weak laugh. "Seems like healing you isn't the best of ideas, oh well, nothing I can help. I'm not gonna be able to sleep like this tonight." Slowly he got to his feet and looked toward the other's in the group and then back at Draqx. He wasn't really sure if the battle was finished, so for now he could only just watch and feel like a hyperactive child.
