They all come pretty close. That is true enough. But you did forget Hanson. He got the spot ahead of Shepperd.
Hanson might give that secondary more diversity, because he's more of a conservative guy. But I always liked Sheppard more, because he creates big plays.
Here a good question for you. Which would you rather have. A guy who will defend the pass, might not get the INT as much as some, and not let big plays happen/sure tackler; or would you rather have somebody who would get the INT a little bit more than the next guy but give up some big plays.
I personally would rather have the former than the latter. I think that if you defend the play, you would give up less points and make it easier on the offense to win the game.
Yes, but defensively, the Eagles play a lot of man coverage, with double teams on the outside. So it's more attractive to get the interception while the ball is thrown your way, rather than just deflect an easy pass (in this system). Anyways, Sheppard brings more experience.
...And I still think that the Eagles have one of the best secondaries in the NFL. But how the hell did they leave Fitzgerald so open on Sunday?
