"Yeah! Let's race!" she remembered an old saying...something about slow and steady and winning a race. Patience ran past Greed, her legs waddling as fast as she could and her tail whipping behind her. "Let's go!" she cried.

Greed grinned, "winner gets to be king of the pond!" he yelled bursting into a run after her trying to keep down the fit of giggles. His bracelets on his tail clanged together as he ran announcing his approach. If they made it to the pond and there were adults there at least they would be able to speed past them. "I bet I'm gonna win!" he called trying to keep pace with her.

Patience laughed outloud, enjoying the wind in her face. "Naw. I think I'm going to win!" she ran trying to outrun Greed. Eventually, she realized she was going to fast, but she didn't want to hurry. She started to slow down slowly, falling a little behind each time.

Greed grinned as his paws pounded against the ground, "No way!" he laughed trying to speed up to get in the lead. He glanced at Patience, "getting tired out already?!" he stuck his tongue out, "come on we wanna get to that pond don't we! Don't you wanna be queen of the pond?!" he raised an eyebrow, it would be bad if she got tired out before they got to the pond, especially if there were hostile adults, so he slowed down, "we don't have to race if your tired."
