We've had Japanese exchange students in our marching band before. They had incredible drive and talent. I would love to go to Japan just to see one of their marching bands perform.

Last Christmas, the Tachibana girl's high school from Kyoto came to our school because they were performing at disneyland. They did their indoor shows, some concert music, and rehearsed a melody of disney songs while 'dance' marching. The most surprising part is the color gaurd isnt just color guard, they all play instruments, and they all switch out between songs. They sight read some of our chirstmas music after we performed chimes of liberty, then our fields show (I had two solos n_n), then our christmas music (I had to ruuuuun to the side of the gym like the japanese girls did, and switch my sax for my clarinet. LUckily I have a doubler's stand, so my pro horns dont get ruined biggrin ). They gave us a run for our money, and we didn't (and couldn't) need to explain any parts of the songs. All of their horns were relatively new looking and in great condition. All of our band got to skip school that day to perform, hangout, then eat with them n_n

That's incredible! You went to Japan! So awesome. I'm excited about my band going to Florida to play. But that seems amazing. Just like, woah. Nice pics, by the way.

Awesome. I can't wait for amrching season again...But somehow marching inside just makes a little of that magic die. We have a japanese exchange student in out band, she's pretty good, but she didn't march. Man is she crazy!
