Looking down only long enough to effectively read Ka'da's drow sign, Mikaril looked back up quickly to ensure none of the guards had spotted them or were anywhere close enough to spot them. Seeing everything as it was, he carefully signaled back. It's to the right of us, in the back of the ship. There's one other door beside it; probably leading to the galley and the other slavers' quarters.

He paused to regain his stability, then signaled again. We might be able to move to the back of the ship and come at it from above, but there's no guarantee we will find any handholds, and chances are they would have a guard watching the rear of the ship. Considering the last unspoken query, Mikaril chewed his lip and signed back rather hesitantly. That spell that you saw was not a spell of attack, but more one of.......camouflage. I have an.....ailment, that I like to keep unnoticed.

Suddenly, Mikaril blinked and rapidly signaled. If we could get them all to go to one part of the ship, between the two of us we might be able to conjure a globe of darkness big enough to encompass them all. What do you think?

Ka'dairihn considered what the thief had relayed to him.
So there was no safe way of getting to the back of the ship where they might be able to sneak out and attack the guards on the deck. So a diversion of sorts would be needed, which would cause the guard to all gather in one area.

He was rather wary of what the thief might be hiding with his spell, but figured it wasn't something that needed to be addressed at the moment. As long as the thief wasn't going to cause any more problems and make him fall victim to the damned female slavers he was fine with allowing the thief to keep his secret to himself.

Fine..we'll use your plan, it will work out better. he signed back. What's your plan in getting them all to one area of the ship? Perhaps use me as bait?

Glad beyond belief that the other drow had chosen to drop the matter of his covering spell, Mikaril quickly signed back. That would probably be best; that way I could work the lock as you are leading them to the front. Then I can aid in the creation of the darkness, and in the confusion, you and I will slip into the cabin. Hopefully Ka'da wouldn't be thinking that he was purposefully putting him at the most risk, but logically, that's how it had to be.
Readying himself, he signaled once more. As soon as you spring out onto the deck, I will head for the door and begin working to unlock it. It shouldn't take very long, and the instant I finish, I'll turn around and cast; that way you can see it and in turn cast yours. Just make sure you know where to head to once things get dark.

Ka'da nodded, and signed back quickly, Sounds like a fair plan. You'd better be fast at picking locks. Let's get to this..time's a-wasting.

Ka'da pulled himself up the side of the ship a little further, readying his body to spring up and over onto the deck of the ship. He nodded to Mikaril and then sprang up and flipped onto the deck. For a moment nothing happened and Ka'da was surprised by the lack of alarm on the guards' faces. That changed rather abruptly when they realized just who was standing on the deck. Ka'da feigned shock and stumbled towards the front of the ship, to make it look like he was trying to get away.

The guards didn't cause an outcry, which Ka'da was grateful for; as they ran towards him their faces a mask of annoyance. They probably didn't want their leader to know that due to their ineptness one of the males had gotten free. Ka'da lurched towards the nearest guard and wrested her blade from her belt and began to defend himself against the guards.

What was taking the thief so long? Weren't they going to cast the darkness spell yet? Ka'da gritted his teeth and feinted a blow from one of the more eager guards; spun her around and stole her blade from her as well. The guards didn't seem to like this one bit..but still they didn't speak a word or cry out for more help.

Mikaril's eyes followed the drow as he flipped easily onto the deck and proceeded to lead the guards in a chase. He was quite surprised that the guards didn't raise an alarm; were they that confident of themselves? He shook his head; females. When would they learn that even they aren't completely invincible?

He waited patiently until he was certain that the guards were thinking that the lone drow before them was their only threat. It would be easy of them to assume that he had killed the smaller drow down below, or just left him there when he had escaped. This way their surprise would be more complete when they found themselves unable to see clearly through a haze of darkness.

Pulling himself up swiftly so that he was up on the rail, he conjured the biggest globe of darkness that he could muster and sent it whirling toward the cluster of guards. Smiling to himself as he fancied he could hear cries, he turned and made a dash for the door, kneeling down to inspect the door's lock. It seemed pretty ordinary; doubtless the occupant relied more on inside traps; even a close-knit female band wouldn't trust each other THAT much. Pulling out what looked like a bent piece of wire, he jammed it into the lock and opened it in a matter of seconds. Nodding in satisfaction, Mikaril remained crouched by the now-ajar door and waited for Ka'da.

The silence that shrouded the females was throwing Ka'dairihn off a bit. It seemed way out of character..as though there was something wrong and that perhaps..the two males had walked into a trap of sorts. He deftly avoided the females' blows wondering when the spell of darkness was going to be unleashed on them.

It was a moment later, out of the corner of his eye that Ka'da noticed the largest globe of darkness whirling towards him and his adversaries. Ka'da ducked low, and threw himself across the deck as the whirling darkness collided with the females and obscured their view of what was going on. The globe of darkness didn't only obscure their view, it enshrouded the entire surface of the deck like an ill fog and made it very difficult to see where Mikaril was working on the door that led into the lower hatch of the ship. He thrust the blade into his belt with a muffled curse and blindly made his way the rest of way, his hands feeling their way across the deck until they found the thief's foot.

Well..that worked a bit better than we had thought. Ka'da signed, and then pulled himself up to a crouched position and then using his strong arms, lowered himself feet first onto the ladder that led into a very narrow hallway.

Ka'da's eyes narrowed as he took in the surroundings. It appeared to be deserted..though the ropes hanging from the ceiling were swinging back and forth haphazardly. The warrior pulled the sword out of his belt, his eyes narrowing further as he took stock of everything. There was someone waiting in here for them..and he wasn't about to let whoever it was get the better of him.

Moving his foot away instantly as he felt someone grasping at it, Mikaril looked behind him with a start until he could see the form of Ka'da appear beside him like a demon out of a cloud of sulfuric fumes. Not liking the comparison, he concentrated on following his companion into the belly of the ship, down the ladder and into the hallway.

He saw Ka'da pull the sword from his belt and wished that he had his dagger so that he could do the same. He thought momentarily that perhaps he ought to have asked the warrior to grab him a weapon from one of the disoriented females up top. The thought made him smile; as though a drow would willingly and with no strings attached give a weapon to another, and one that traveled behind him no less!

Instead he slowly and deliberately made his way up until he was alongside Ka'da, in a way where the warrior, already on edge, would be less likely to lash out at him in surprise. Moving his hands in front of him, he signed, What is it?

Ka'dairihn kept his gaze alert, darting here and there around the hold as he signed back to Mikaril with one hand, his other still grasping his sword tightly. We're not alone..prepare yourself. He had just finished signing the warning to the thief when with a roar of rage, the female captain threw herself at him, her eyes blazing with blood lust burning in them.

Ka'da found himself at the mercy of the crazed female, her dagger inches away from his throat as his arms burned with the strained effort of keeping her from baring down on him even further. It was as though her rage had increased her strength and for a moment Ka'da grew concerned that he would lose the battle, until his will for survival grew stronger than that of her rage and he was able to thrust her upwards and lash out at her with his stolen sword, cutting an arc into her body. She cried out at the sudden pain, looked down and fell to the floor her blood spewing out of the now ravaged jugular vein. Ka'da jumped to his feet, glanced around warily for more adversaries as he wiped the blade across the woman's cloak.

Let's get moving..there will be others no doubt.
Ka'da signed breathing heavily from his exertion and glanced back at the thief.

The instant he read the other's fingers, Mikaril tensed, looking around in the shadows for any sign of the person that Ka'da had indicated. He suddenly heard the roar and moved to stay out of the warrior's way, cursing under his breath his lack of a weapon. With his dagger, he might have been able to at least help, or with his armor provide something of a shield for his comrade to attack from behind, but he knew that in the state he currently was, the best thing to do would be to get out of the way.

He watched the ensuing fight intently, in case he might haplessly stick his foot out and cause the female to sprawl, but before he knew it, the female was on the floor, gasping as blood from her neck spouted out like some grotesque fountain, and Ka'da was wiping his blade clean on the female's cloak. Nodding, Mikaril followed, giving the fallen female a wide berth in case she should have a last surge of strength and grab at him. He followed until they reached another door at the end of the corridor, one that he was certain had to be the captain's quarters judging by the elaborately fancy lock. He pulled out another pick and proceeded to fool around with this lock. It took him a little longer to spring it, but when he heard the click, he smiled and motioned for Ka'da to back away a bit before pushing the door inwards. No traps sprang up to meet them; apparently the captain had rushed out to investigate and not had the time to set them. He could even see a pair of small crossbows fixed on the door, arrows loaded and ready. But what interested him the most was the pile of items sitting on the table beside a map of the Glimmersea; the items that had been taken from them when they were captured.

Smiling widely, Mikaril walked over to the pile and picked up his dagger, cloak and armor, the idea of stealing from Ka'da far from his mind. He quickly donned his cloak and then proceeded to strap on his armor, looking down as he tightened a strap on his leg armor and speaking aloud.
"We have to leave quickly. I suggest we take the longboat; it would save us a swim and they can't follow us right away."

Ka'dairihn was rather thankful that the thief hadn't tried to rush in to aid him in his battle. It would have only resulted in one of their deaths, most likely his as he would have had to have kept the female from ripping the smaller male into tiny pieces. Aggressive females tended to do that to the smaller ones. Ka'da figured it was some way of proving how superior they were.

Ka'da stepped back from the door and waited patiently as the thief did his job. Ka'da moved further out of the way not questioning the thief's motions. He was rather relieved to find that there were no booby traps set up to trip the moment the door was opened.

He followed the thief into the room and then waited until the thief had grabbed his belongings before he went over to get his own. He was glad to find that his coin pouch and all its belongings were still inside. Unfortunately his armor and sword were no where in sight. That really didn't concern him too much, despite how he had acted about it in the beginning. He was due to gain new equipment for an upcoming mission his Matron had hinted about rather soon. He did find his cape strewn across the back of the chair and quickly pulled it on and hid the parcel in one of the interior secret pockets.

"Good idea, the faster we get out of her the better. However, iu think a bit of sabotage would be fitting don't you?" Ka'da asked turning to give Mikaril a speculative look. "I mean, they did intend to sell us like common riff raff. That in itself is a travesty and completely unacceptable."

Used to strapping his armor on in record time, it wasn't long before Mikaril was standing in the captain's quarters in his full armor, cloak and hood resting comfortably on his head and shoulders. Now he felt more adequate than he had in hours; no longer vulnerable to every little thing. Without his armor, he might as well have been naked, the way its absence had made him feel.

Strapping his dagger within easy reach, he turned to Ka'da just as he saw him donning a cloak of his own.
"Well, if you feel we have the time. Females can be just as vicious without their leader as they are with one. But if you have a plan, then tell me quickly; I have a feeling that the group on deck has likely regathered themselves, and it's just a matter of time before they find us down here."
PostPosted: Wed Jun 30, 2010 6:30 pm

Ka'dairihn eyed the thief closely, a bit annoyed at how naked he felt in comparison. Damn. he hoped the thief didn't notice his discomfort at it. Though its not like it should really matter, after all they had both escaped the same fate and were now at better odds than before. Ka'da rubbed his wrists remembering how tight the manacles had been on them. Gods..being trussed up like a common little thief or street urchin was just too much. If he was going to get back at these slavers..it was going to have to be something good.

he cast a scrutinizing gaze at Mikaril for a moment and then spoke, his voice low and laced with venom. "We'll sabotage the rudder..and set this thing ablaze. Fitting for such vile vipers as these. Is that satisfactory enough for you?"

A bit taken aback by the male's obvious temper, Mikaril shrugged as much as he dared and nodded. As far as he was concerned, he was never insulted by a female wanting to make his life a living Hell; it was just what they did. He knew that in their eyes, he was there for them to mistreat and abuse; that's why he avoided them, and when he was unable to and was captured like this, he had no one to blame but himself. But Ka'da almost seemed as though he were someone exceedingly important, too much so for mere females to tie him up. Those sort of airs made him both impressed and a little sympathetic of the fool who had them.

Figuring that it was best to just agree with the angered drow for the time being, Mikaril nodded.
"To do both of those, we'll need to get back up top. That means luring the crew down here and locking them in while we go to the deck, disable the rudder chain, and set the place afire. I bet if we just hide close to the stepladder, the rest of the crew will just pass us by as they come down. But we'll have to be quick, before they come down here and trap us in this room."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 05, 2010 6:49 pm

Ka'da did not notice nor would he have cared to know what Mikaril's reaction to his words was. He was too far gone in his plot to turn the tables on the females. Of course he counted Mik as an accomplice..but naught much more. He didn't really care to much for thieves..to really think much about him or care about his opinion.

Sure Ka'da knew he was overstepping his bounds in social standing when he started plotting against the females on the ship. Still it would have been much worse for him if he hadn't tried to escape..as his Matron would have been angry if he had sat back and waited to be ransomed. Such was the place of a male..they could never be in the good graces of their matron's for very long without having a good head on their shoulders. Females were finicky and more than likely to turn on a male if they showed any sign of weakness. This was starting to get on Ka'da's nerves.

"Yes, so we will. How good are you at causing a distraction? it maybe be better to split up. You can lead them down..While I start on disabling the rudder, then you can trap them below and come help me finish. I may be strong..but I'll more than likely need your nimble fingers to jam the chain with something once I get it pulled up."

Mikaril couldn't help but smile at how smoothly Ka'da had finished his statement in regards to their escape. The very question of how he would know whether or not Ka'da would wait for him and not just shut him belowdecks with the angry females died on his lips at the mention of his nimble fingers. At least that was as good a guarantee as he was going to get that his temporary partner in crime would not leave him behind to be slaughtered. "I can cause a good enough distraction; you just make sure you are ready to close and bar the door leading up to the deck when I come running up."

Gesturing for Ka'da to follow, Mikaril ran back to the corridor where the cooled corpse of the female they had killed lay in a pool of blood. Stifling a grimace and leaving Ka'da to take his own position, he dragged the deadweight back to the cabin, leaving a smear of red all the way down the corridor. Placing her in a corner in the cabin, he looked around until he spotted a whip, grinning as he picked it up. He heard a sudden thundering as many footfalls began sounding down the wooden stairs. He could hear muffled voices coming from the other side, and knew that they were seeing the blood in the corridor and were hesitating. Slipping behind the door, Mikaril cracked the whip as hard as he could, taking satisfaction in it's sharp crack, and began to wail in his regular voice as he cracked the whip. "Please, stop! *Crack!* We're sorry; please! *Crack!* Ahhhh! We won't escape agai-! *Crack!* Ahhhh! Mercy!" *Crack!* He continued to sob as though he were in terrible pain, which was surprisingly easy, thanks to his 'play sessions' with Haellara. Sure enough, he heard the footfalls moving down the corridor and then the warmth of several bodies moving past the door, looking over to the crumpled form of the female that he had dragged in and looking around for the tormentor. Puzzled, they moved forward to take a closer look at the corpse, and Mikaril used the chance to slip outside the door and jam the handle by wrapping around and knotting the whip.

Already hearing the outraged cries from inside the room, Mikaril ran down the corridor, careful not to slip and fall in the slick blood as he reached the ladder and began running up it.
