thats so sweet and such good news.
this feb 15 it will be one whole year my mom has quit smoking.
back in the day people would ask me if i smoked because i smelled like it.
i used to not be able to smell smoke but now i can (yay i wont die if the house catches on fire! i will smell the smoke and escape to saftey) also i knotice i can taste alot more and better.
my grandma still smokes.
she lives next to me and just a few minutes spent over her house, weather she is smoking or not smells me up.
i hate it.

it's a shame because my little brother smokes and my mum does so i really can stink of it sometimes. It's hard when the temptation is there.

personally I think smoking is one of the most disgusting habits. Lolita or not smoking is gross and it may look cool only if you have a long drag cigarette, but it really only works for EGA style. If you want to go for the innocent, childish "look" a cigarette will kill it. Smoking is gross though. gonk don't do it.

Even though I don't lke smoking and highly discourage it, (Though I must admit I LOVE the long cigarette holders) I did a search on eBay for y'all to find some nice looking holders you can purchase. ^-^ Here is a lovely plain black one, 9 3/4" long one thats around $20 at the moment. Clicky!This one is beautiful, it has crystals embedded in the holder part and is going for about $7 (Although I'm not sure if it can be used. sweatdrop ) Clicky!This one is an "I love lucy" style 13" holder made of painted black wood with metal tips. Okay, I wont start preaching about how bad it is to smoke. ‘Cause that suck, and it wont change anything. XD
I’m not a smoker. And I’m not really Lolita. (I’m a male, so that would be kind a weird for me running around in Lolita clothes every day XD)
If you smoke, I think you should only be wearing Lolita styles like GL, EGL, erololi, Punk Lolita and such. It would just look very wrong if you wore something like Sweet or Country Lolita. (@_@’) When it’s something about being elegant, I think a cigarette could look fine enough. But when it comes to look like a cute doll, that would just be ugly.
Haha. Sometimes I really wanna smoke. XD It can look really cool, so I guess you could call it an accessory to your outfit? XD Bah, I’m just kidding. I wont start smoking. My dad died of lounge cancer because of that fooch, so I’m too smart not to start. ^-^

i love sweet loli and retro wear.
i think it looks very elegant to smoke.
i don't smoke a lot but just once in a while because the smell is nostalgic for me.
(its also getting harder to smoke in hawaii... there's this new law that bans smoking in public- i can explain later)
my solution- carry cigarettes in a cigarette case (i have an authientic vintage one from the 1940s), use matches instead of a lighter (i like to buy the kind that comes in boxes, especially the really long ones), and use "pretty cigarettes" whenever i can (for example sobranie brand pink cigarettes). heart

mmm, I personally dont smoke, I dont think its the BEST look for a lolita, however if you could SOMEHOW pull it off, I'm sure it'd look fabulous.
gonk though smoking in itself isn't fabulous, perhaps thats the reason why its hard to pull off XD

Smoking is disgusting, looks and smells horrible. It's bad for you and it's terrible for lolita's and non-lolitas.

I think smoking is more or less perfectly acceptable for a lolita if it goes with your personal lolita style.
It goes against the lolita ideal of being healthy, but that seems like it would be fine if its what you want. I mean, the only reason I don't smoke is because I'm on birth control, and doing both is really bad for you. But when I grow up, I (sadly) actually plan to start smoking. But only certain kinds (see below.)
Although, I think if your going to take lolita seriously, and your a smoker, there are certain things that would help it be more...lolita-esque. For instance,
*a really cute, adorable, wonderful ciggarette case. Something that fits your style, and it'll physically fit just about anywhere. My roommate has a Rosie the Riveter case, and at the local "Head" shop they have all kinds of cool cases.
*a ciggarette holder. Like one of the stems that you put the ciggarette in to smoke it. Something not too long and really cute. Pink maybe ^-^ This is not neccesary though, and could probably end up being a hassle.
*The cigs I feel are best (and the ones I plan on smoking when i turn 35 or 40) would probably be a form of Black and Milds. ((Like Nana's Black Stones. )) I love Black Milds, they are my favorite type of cigarettes (i don't like any other kind, they smell bad) mostly because I think they smell like roasted marshmellows. That alone makes me think that they'd fit a lolita look, because of the sweet smell. Also, the color would fit in with a gothic lolita look.
Does that all seem silly to you?

The only problem I have with smoking is the smell. If someone near me is smoking I'll hold my breath. And what would happen if they don't go away ...? Well then. I supposed I'd run out of air and gasp as if I was dying.
Though I can see myself smoking once I found a brand that smelled okay. Because I'm me.
Now, back on topic! Personally, I think smoking would be fine with loli gear. Except if you're wearing sweet, country, princess, or shiro-loli. Everything else seems okay. Even without cig holders, you can still manage an air of sophistication.

tee heee.
i must be crazy because i'm the only one who likes the smell of cigarettes.
my last post was one month ago when the smoking ban was still "fresh" and people were breaking the law here and there.
and now i crave it more because barely anyone smokes around common areas now.
:C so the only way to smell cigarettes is to smoke one yourself.
(and to veer off topic... the new thing is j-walking. the police are on segways now and they are handing out tickets to j-walkers like there's no tomorrow. can't wait to see how this turns out in a month...
