"A worthwhile pastime, that..." Atreyu began, then looked horrified. "I-it's not crooked! My horn is exactly the shape it should be!" Where was a puddle of water when one needed it? He thought, half-wanting to check just to make sure.
Taking a deep breath, Atreyu contemplated how to answer that. "Just like my coat is a different color from yours, not everyone has the same number of horns (if they even have any at all)...or the same kind of tail, or colored eyes..." he trailed off, wondering if Niko was even paying attention to what he was saying.

"Oh." Nikolai seemed not to notice the other's horrified look, and was unashamed about his accusation. Who knew one could have a horn sitting smack in the center of their forehead?
"I'm glad I have horns, they are shiny. I can keep them with me always, but I can't play with them..." The little fawn shot one quick, longing glance towards his companion's horn before squinting across the bright, snowy field.
