Yahoo.com articleSo there's going to be a new director for New Moon. :0 I don't know if that's good or bad; New Moon should be releasing late 2009/early 2010. I hope there isn't a rush to find a new director and then a rush to get through New Moon and give us fans a bad film. I don't know how to feel about a new director. While Twilight seemed kind of... eh, it could've been worse. It could've been MUCH worse. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm really hoping they'll find a capable director for New Moon. >.< *crosses fingers*

i don't think they'll get rid of jacob. he's so good!!!
I am really curious to see what chris does with this. at least he has a lot more experience with special effects and stuff...that will be good. That and he has to somewhat follow chatherine's example right? He cant deviate too much...or all of us fans will TRAMPLE HIM TO A PULP... heh

I'm not happy that Hardwicke won't be directing New Moon. I didn't think Twilight was really stellar, but I liked it all right. I don't like that they're thinking of recasting Jacob and I hear that New Moon will be finished quickly, which worries me. New Moon will take a lot of special effects and so on, and with it being done so quickly I'm worried that it won't be good.

First, it has been recently decided that Jacob will remain the same, so that's one problem gone.
Here's my spiel on this, if anyone is interested. I really enjoyed Twilight. Why? I looked at it as being based on the book. It's not a perfect carryover. Its just based on Twilight. So, the things they kept the same, cool. The things they did not, that's alright. They didn't do anything egregious, like including fangs and such. So, looking at New Moon, try to keep this in mind: It's based on New Moon. It's just the gist of the book. Also, some little things may change, such as locales and costuming. Look at it as a second chance to get it right. Don't necessarily compare it straight to the Twilight movie. You need to think of these things separately, and you will likely enjoy the movies much more whee
Anyway, that's my opinion. blaugh

Though I agree about the Golden Compass movie not doing so well, Chris really had little say in the matter. The books are actually more for adults, but he was limited to making it into a family/childrens movie. Personally, I think they picked Chris for the way he creates an imaginary world with special effects and the like. Imagine Jacob transforming into a wolf looking creature like in the Harry Potter movies. Could you imagine that? Chris wouldn't do something like that and would create the form more really looking (the new trailer as proof). Anyway, I think it'll be better than the first. They have more money to work with too (:
