Grand Pianist Okay okay... Then this should be piracy. When I hand out my compositions to other people with it being Copyrighted and all the legal mumbo jumbo. If I hand it out for free and someone starts to sell it, is that piracy even if I stated it? If you don't copyright it or even post it on a site where everything is automatically safe and given the legal consideration of being under copyright protection, then you don't have the legal right to it, so no, legally speaking it isn't.

Then they are pirating since I didn't put it on the internet. Like I said I handed it out. Copyrighted for sure. So it is stealing in every form. Mmm~ I see~

Shaymer QueeniePMonkey I do a legal form of music pirating- I go to the library, check out CDs and DVDs and copy them onto my compy. Does that count? That is theft. You did not pay for those and you can now use them whenever you want. That is still pirating. I have previewed music. That is easy but downloading it without purchasing it is wrong. End of story. Same goes for a painting. It's one thing to look at a picture of it, it is something else to have the image when copies are for sale and you didn't pay for it. AH, but SOMEONE paid to own the CD. Should the library not be allowed to loan out books, CDs and DVDs?

It's still stealing and there is no argument in that line of reasoning. Loan, yes. Download, no.

If there is new music that I want, but cannot purchase in a timely manner either due to finances or the lack of ability to get to a store that sells the CD, I'll download it. If I don't like it, I know I haven't wasted my money. I don't believe in paying for music that I've already purchased. Much like I don't believe in paying for books that I already own or have already read. The information is there. I just want easier access to it.
