Thorn is a blind mercenary with a distinct hatred of bandits, raiders, pirates, and other marauders. He's quiet and more than a little misogynistic but his heart is pretty much in the right place. Thorn is gay and in love with an angel named Azura Soulblade.

Lahal is a typical reluctant vampire - fully aware that he's a bloodsucking creature of the night, and reluctantly accepting he's better off that way. He studied with a strict order of monks dedicated to a goddess of death to train himself to resist the constant temptation involved with being what he is, and is now less a predator and more a womanizer. He is the lover of Lady Sylia Mograine, a blood witch.

Eldrix was a schoolteacher named Catherine Reilly once, but her thirst for knowledge led her to read forbidden tomes of the dark arts. From there, she learned to extend her life unnaturally, as well as many other fell powers. She is on a quest to amass as much knowledge as she can, using whatever means neccessary.

Gyla was kidnapped by orcish slavers as a child, but eventually escaped and now searches for her family. She learned skills as a scout at a military academy, and now lives with her female lover, Fayra Amastacia.
