(Ice beats fire, and fire beats ice.)
Ifrit summoned another fireball in a split second. It hurled the fireball straight into the gargantuan icicle. The two elements cancelled each other out. Ifrit leapt into the air, did a frontflip in the process, and started to come down towards Rinoa, both giant fists raised.
"FOOLISH MORTAL."

-Rinoa grins. Right where she wants him. She dashes out of the way of his fists and whips her hand behind her to throw her willpower, letting the second stage of Blizzara take place: a snowstorm erupts in Ifrit's face. Were she allowed Blizzaga, the snostorm would be accompanied with painful shards of ice in the maelstrom, but as it is now, it's mainly an annoyance. She stops about 30 feet behind Ifrit, whirls around, and fires the Valkyrie at the junction of Ifrit's shoulderblades, leaping again to stay moving and confusing like the ninja she's trying to be.-

Ifrit took all the hits. There was nothing it could do about it, really. The creature stood straight, arms folded.
"NOT BAD FOR A HUMAN. VERY WELL. I WILL JOIN YOU."

Ifrit summoned more fire between his hands, but this didn't look like an attack spell. Crushing his hands together, he molded the flames into the form of a small stone no wider than a battery's length, which he then tossed toward the sorceress.
Then flames sprouted out from the remaining wounds in his body, growing to encompass his entire form, before the flames winked out, and the GF was no longer there.
In that stone Rinoa had been thrown was the spirit of the GF.
(I just now realized that the "NOT BAD FOR A HUMAN." thing sorta sounds like Ganondorf from Zelda... o_O)

-Her eyes widen and she quite literally has an "o_o" face. She stands, stomps toward Squall, and stops, hands on her hips and her left foot tapping. Then... the fuming begins.-
WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT! I thought we were supposed to be FIGHTING! Ifrit never went that easy on his targets when he was with me before! He's not supposed to be cutting me slack, damn it all! You didn't tell him to go easy, did you? Because if you did and I find out, I swear...
-Rinoa fumes all the way down the path, her expostulations trailing off into the acoustics of the fire cave as she storms out, absently pouring the contents of a potion bottle on her shoulder out of habit.-

(Actually, considering that Blizzara's a powerful spell, and it's the elemental opposite of fire, that storm did MAJOR damage.)

((Keep in mind Rinoa doesn't really consider the extent of the damage she can do in situations like that and, while expecting things to bend to what she wants, she also expects to not be let up easy, being a student- she's used to being a Sorceress and Ifrit doing a shitload more damage like when he was junctioned with her in the game. xD ))

( Raven, you know you could have Ifrit step it up? Instead of using regular Fire spells you can have Ifrit step it up, become more aggresive and toss Fira spells along with physical attacks, it'll be a real test ... you're going abit easy on them so keep this in mind 3nodding )

Instead of using regular Fire spells you can have Ifrit step it up, become more aggresive and toss Fira spells along with physical attacks, it'll be a real test ... you're going abit easy on them so keep this in mind 3nodding ) (Maybe if a really tough Cadet comes along... >>)

You give up and simply let Ifrit sit there and join them, thats like passing a test with a A+ only to find you got the "special" easy version. )

-Angelo trots to the entrance, exhausted. The guards here are asleep: there isn't really anything here to guard in the middle of the night, as anybody taking the trial exam would be asleep now, and anyone who wants to do it this time of night can roast quite pleasantly for disturbing the guardian force. Angelo stops a moment to scratch an itch and catch her breath before trotting into the cavern. Ifrit's guardian flames protect her from the various beasts wandering inside. She sniffs around, careful not to fall off the edges of the paths, and chooses an older crater behind the massive one Ifrit uses to manifest. She paws at the old crater a bit to clean up the ground, circles around, and lies down, worrying herself to sleep. She hopes her Lady will be safe and come to her tomorrow. Ifirit, having a better understanding of humans and having seen many different extents of Rinoa's power and self-sufficiency, sincerely comforts Angelo's mind until her eyes close and her worries peter out into the fields of sleep.-
