Having a girlfriend (or boyfriend) is not the be all and end all, my friend. I don't know what religion you are, I can't even think of one that would have such a 'restriction' (nasty word when one is dealing with religion, but I'm an uneducated fool, so couldn't think of the correct term) to be honest.
If your faith and belief in your religion is strong, and not pushed on to you by your family (again, horrible use of words there, I apologise) then I urge you to hold off, and simply surround yourself with friends. True friends will stand beside you and lift your spirits, and dissolve your loneliness.

You're being over dramatic. You think it's bad having to wait to get a girlfriend? Try imagining if you could never have one at all. A few years wait isn't much compared to that.
