Zephyr led Oreo back and they sat by Spirit and Paradox. While some of the kyns were asking questions to do with what they were dealing with, the kyns of Edoc'sil stayed quiet.
They all had questions, but none of them wanted to ask. They were all nervous, and none of them were familiar with battle. Rowan was the only one in the den who has ever even been face-to-face with a feral Kyn, and that was before Rosemary had even hatched.
While Paradox looked around anxiously, Spirit tried to pay close attention to the conversation, noticing the arrival of another female Eastern. A plan...Spirit really didn't know how to contribute. To her, the best idea seemed that they should withdraw the entire clan into the den, seal it off, and wait it out. Spirit hated to admit it, but she was scared, and found her mind more geared toward keeping herself and her clanmates safe than in defending all the other inhabitants of the Island.
Don't worry, it's a natural reaction. Zephyr told her. Our Clan has been rather isolated from others all this time, you shouldn't expect yourself to put strangers above yourself.
Zephyr looked back to Oreo now with concern. He did not want her caught in this. But she was already here, a few day's journey away from their den. What was he to do? Origin has little experience of the world outside the den, hunting only when accompanied by Zephyr.
Oreo did not belong in this, but he could not send her back alone -not that he could tell Oreo to leave his side. He could not accompany her back- he knew that he would be needed here.
Um...Do w-...we have to fight? Oreo suddenly asked Aedan. Isn't there...um...any way we can negotiate? What reason...why would they attack us? I...haven't even heard of them until n-now.
All members of the Edoc'sil clan perked up slightly as they considered this possibility. All of them wanted to avoid any fighting.

Coriolis was immensely relieved when June came back into sight, alongside Zen. Both seemed to be carrying something in their teeth, he noted curiously. As both kyns neared him, they looked like they were treating the strange objects with as much care as one would handle a new hatchling.
Saving his questions for later, Coriolis gave them both a brief update on the little they had discussed while they were gone.
'Knowing if they have any weaknesses and what they are will aid us greatly,' Zen said in agreement.
June wasn't sure if Aedan had already explained what she was wondering now, but it seemed safer to ask and be embarrassed than leave out crucial information. 'Why hasn't anyone seen them before?'
'I second that. If they plan on taking over the island, they must have sent some scouts or the like here,' Coriolis said aloud thoughtfully. And if a group of never-before-seen kyn-lookalikes suddenly appeared, it was impossible for no one to have seen them.
