WHat instrument that is not incorperated into jazz at all would you like to see and why? If the instrument is used in jazz but very seldomly what do you think people could do to make it more versatile for use?

Care to elaborate on the Chinese Gu Zin?
Erm...Sitars are cool. We've already covered flutes and clarinets. Some bizarre African instruments that I have no name for. More stringed instruments, particularly violin.

King_of_ninjas I would like to hear Bagpipe jazz or Digeridoo (I'm an australian and I still have no idea how to spell it... sweatdrop ) YEAH! Dijeridoos RULE!! (Your spelling is correct, also.) It would be cool to hear that in jazz. I don't know about bagpipe, though...can they play chromatically? Or are they stuck with diatonic? How bout some callistas (think that's what they're called, those mini-cymbal things that go on your fingers) And, also electronic mediums (ex. computer) would make an interesting addition.

Hmm. I know it's been done, but we could use more of instruments like the French Horn, or hell, maybe even the oboe. Let some of these classical guys get in on the fun... Then there's the sacbut rofl . I like saying that...heh....sacbut.

Then there's the sacbut rofl . I like saying that...heh....sacbut. Good idea. Also, editing my previous post, I wanted to say castanets. Also interesting would be instruments like the harp, or piccolo.
