Hazel jumped down from her ledge and landed on the path next to the girl. She had practiced it so many times before that she didn't stumble or have to catch herself. As the dust settled, Hazel looked up at the traveler. "So what brings you here to Mainland with what happened last night?" she asked.

With a questioning look on her face she tilted her head to the side a bit. "Something happened last night?" She answered the girl's question with another. 'I figure something was up, with the roads so empty..'

Hazel brought a copy of the Tellus Gazette out of her bag and showed her the headline. "Yeah, three people were killed in the square," she said, pointing in the direction of the center of town. "You didn't hear about that?"

Giving that paper a quick scan she gathered the information as the told her the shorter version. "No I didn't... I haven't been in a town since three days ago. It makes sense why it's so desolate right now..." Ana gave a small shrug.

Hazel folded up the paper and put it back in her bag. "So what are you up to now?" she asked. She could use some excitement in her routine, usual day.

Ana shrugged, "I hadn't really decided yet. I was just thinking about where to head next. Probably not where the freak murders happened..." She stretched out her arms and let out a small yawn.

Hazel nodded. "The attack was from a faction in the Jordachian Theocracy," she informed Ana. She shifted her eyes around conspiratorially before leaning in slightly closer to her. "I've also heard the Aristocracy has launched a silent war against them," she added, suddenly very much liking that she heard snippets of rumor as the random traveler passed by.

Ana sighed, 'Great, just what we needed.' She then looked at the other girl, "Go figure."

Hazel looked at the girl curiously, then smiled in a slightly embarassed way. "I'm sorry, I don't believe I caught your name," she explained. She stuck out her hand and grinned. "My name's Hazel."

She took the girls hand and shook it, "I'm Ana. Nice to meet you."

Hazel smiled and shook her hand. "Would you like me to show you around town?" she offered, half turning to go. She picked up her bag and slung it over her left shoulder after returning her blade to its place.

Hazel smiled and began to trek up to the town. A glimmer of light blue flicked across the now iridescent gems as a breeze fluttered her hair. Following the blue, there seemed to be black, but when Hazel checked it again, it had disappeared.
