"You're welcome," if she read the obvious hint of insincerity, she didn't dwell on it, instead choosing to preen a spot on her wing as she pondered her own previous words to the Seeker. The Forager had almost been expecting the young adult to spread his wings and leave, so thus, was mildly startled out of her thoughts as he spoke again. A frown edged her features as she drew her head away from her wing, "Let's see," came the mumble, "I don't think there's anyone within these parts that is related to him, but if you fly a little further, closer to Deep woods, you might find someone. His family is large and proud. I think a ... Applehoney? Applewood? .... Applebark? I don't quite remember the name; Apple-something was nearby, if rumours are correct."
She'd heard wind of it, but then again, she heard wind of quite a lot of things and most of them were not really true, "I think they've pretty much disowned him though, and they might not be too keen to talk about him," fluffing her plumage up, Bushfire tilted her head. She was unaware what it was the Seeker had in mind, but in all honesty did not care to know. The less she knew, the less she had to worry about and thus, the less that was her fault. She was content with thinking that seeing as he was a Seeker, he would not lie and thus, would not be able to harm Basil (or her, if things blew up in her face like these sort of things tended to do) more than he (they) deserved, "Good luck," then as an afterthought, she motioned to a nearby bush, the fruits visible from the near distance, "If you ever have information worth sharing, or a trade in mind, I would not mind doing business with you."
Oh, Bushfire was well aware that the young Seeker did not 'like' her. At least not more than he would have like any random sentinel anyhow, but she was also aware that it was best to remain on good terms with those of his kind. She had a sneaking suspicion that she would not have liked to get on his bad side, and thus why risk making an enemy when she could make ally? After all, she had enough 'enemies' to last her a lifetime as it was, and something told her she was bound to make more as soon as she was ready to go confront her ex-mate and the Mist.

"Thanks," he said again, nodding to her. Large and proud... they didn't sound hard to find, at least not near someplace like the Deep Woods. And he'd keep that name in mind. Rumors were always worth investigating, as were other Sentinels- Apple... something would be a good source of information. At least, he hoped so.
He considered himself warned about the family, but Bracken wasn't particularly worried. The most they could do was bully him, and he was too good at that game to let that happen... besides, as a Seeker, he had the law on his side.
Bracken turned to leave, spreading his wings out. Bushfire was a nice host, at least, and very courteous to her guests. Plus every time he came, he left with something delectable. There was no real reason to dislike her, beyond her mistakes, and that he could look past. She was pure and proud and as far as the Seeker was concerned, Noctua needed more like her.
"I will come to you if I have anything else to share," he replied- all formalities, but he doubted that he would return again.
And with that, he took off into the woods, nuts in tow, as he headed off towards his own territory.

The Forager watched him go, her tongue coming to click against the top of her beak in a clear 'Tsk' like sound. Now that the truth was out in the open, all that was left to do was to confront her ex-mate... and the Mist. She needed to give Basil a good warning (and a piece of her mind for making her suffer as much as he had). The Mist also needed a fair warning, and besides, she had a bone to pick with her, mostly because he pride and ego would not let her leave it to rest.
Spreading her wings, the Forager left her territory with half a mind to go visit Basil. Now that the Seeker knew the story, it would only be a matter of time before the whole of Noctua learnt about it. Noctus help her... at least, she felt like she'd done the right thing by voicing out the past events. Bushfire felt like she'd gotten rid of a large weight that she'd been carrying over her shoulders for a very, very long time now.-- The End --
