At the dawn of time, the beginning of Gaia as it is now known, the islands emerged from the depth of the sea, the volcanoes at the bottom of the world bringing them forward. All of the elements came together to create Isle de Lun, and the magic that surrounds it and makes it up. But as the moon gazed down on this new creation, she longed to share it with someone, and so she created the Chandra, her children.

At the same time, the sun had plans of his own. With the rest of the world under his steady gaze, he shared his world with his children, the humans. The blessed his children with greater numbers, being much larger than the moon, and soon they spread from where they were originally placed. Eagerly, they learned, consumed, and sometimes destroyed as they continued forward across the globe, leaving their mark behind them.

The moon loved the humans as well, so she welcomed them onto the islands that she'd begun as a haven for her Chandra. But humans are not just non-magical, in many cases they repel magic in their ignorance and denial. Being magical creatures themselves, this hurt the Chandra, and even the islands that surrounded them, and their numbers began to dwindle as they could no longer live side-by-side with the early humans. Finally, they numbered so few that only a few eggs were left, a few eggs that would be given to two girls in the hopes of revitalizing their race...

Unlike the Terrayne, the ancestors of the Aquandra fled to the sea. At first, they clung to the outskirts of the islands, making their homes in the damp caverns by the shorelines where they were sheltered from the catastrophe that befell their race.

The coast changed, times changed, and so did the Chandra. Taking the cue from the animals that had accepted them as brothers and sisters over the years, the once Chandra, now Aquandra took to the sea. Their hair, once lustrous and full, was now clumped and in lochs that resembled seaweed from a lifetime of seawater and swimming. Adapted to their new surroundings, their two feet was now one set of fins, gleaming with scales that resembled the pebbles close to the shore.

The teaching that they live by is, "Though the rock is unyielding, the water will slowly erode it." They couldn't be considered pacifists, but rather take a passive aggressive approach to problems, believing that time, patience and perseverance will solve all problems.

As humans encroached on their land, there was a group of Chandra that reacted similarly to the Ignarial, except instead of blaming the humans, they blamed their mother. Who had let these new creatures onto the island? Was it not her job to keep Isle de Lun sacred?

Instead of asking for her help, they cursed the moon. They left her light and the light of the sun and took to the shadows, where new souls are always welcome. Though they didn't nurse their anger and hate, they shunned the moon and her light, accepting the guile ways of darkness and those that dwelled there with longer claws, horns, wings and tail of demons.

Demons have no rule of thumb to live by, but there is one thing that they know; if they want something, they have to do it themselves. They aren't evil by nature, not really, but they're definitely not as giving or loving as angels, and are generally a lot more stubborn. Moreso than anything, they seek to live in the moment, because that's all anyone really has, right?
