We were allowed to watch it at school. My favorite part was the song.

Which song? The one the quartet played? The National Anthem? America the Beautiful?

I was bumping "My President" by Young Jeezy all day!! I also watched a documentary called "Right America: Feeling Wronged" about McCain supporters leading up to the election and there are a lot of people who were very vocal about not wanting Obama to be president. It's one thing to say that you don't agree with Obama's stand on issues, but when they go as far to say that he's Osama or that he's not a "real American" because he wasn't born in the heartland is sad...

Rev. Joseph Lowery
Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around ... when yellow will be mellow ... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen.
biggrin Love it!!

ME TOO! Lol
@Inquiring Mindscrew -- all day? Nah bruh. All week.. despite the wayward lyrics.
I know Im like 453 months late, but HEY. Lol.
I remember crying and calling my mom and telling her for the first time I was proud to be an American cause I felt as if I actually belonged.

Isn't it something how in the 21st century... the year two thousand nine... We still feel as if we needed this in order to feel like we are truly a real part of this country?

Wow.

I know many white people who do or may possibly think that black people should feel just as American as anyone else, but in reality, it has only been just over forty years since Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. Forty-five years ago, within our parents' and grandparents' lifetime, black
Americans and other non-white citizens finally could not be discriminated against in public places.

It's truly amazing.
