yep, and shinra helped me too (thanks again, btw. razz ) after beating various computers up for not accepting the formatting program and not recognizing my hdd, it all went well. the ps3 part is easy. recovering your trophies can be a bit of a pain, though.
if you upgrade make sure to sync your trophies first, that is... if you want to keep them.

My upgrade went fine. The only problem I encountered was that Swissknife refused to install on my computer. BUT...I just used a different program and that was that. s0njas0n is Right about the trophies...you have to sinc before hand or else you lose em. They're stored server side so others can see em, but when you look at your collection...it's empty. There's a simple work around, but that's kind of annoying. No real problems though. And I'm loving it. And no prob s0njas0n......anytime. Was funny how it was the dumbest s#!t giving the most problems. But it worked out. biggrin

i didn't remember reading anything about the rpm in this thread before (maybe because i wasn't quite ready to upgrade yet) and went ahead and got the 7200rpm drive. i got a little worried when i saw there might be problems, but read up on it, and it should be fine. sony doesn't say not to and it supposedly only is 1% hotter than a 5400rpm hdd. i've had it for 3 weeks, no problems.

Sounds like it wasn't hard 3nodding I'm going to attempt to get some money for the hard drive this weekend. I'm going to see how low circuit city is going to sell it since they're going out of buisness. mrgreen So about the trophies shinra, if i sync them again before hand and upgrade, they will show up like nothing happened correct? ninja

Sounds good but 320gb is going to be fine for now xd If you ever run into a problem be sure to let me know before i got out and buy an internal TB hard drive cool

i was referring to the rpm of the drive, not the space. i don't have that much to download in 3 weeks.
and actually no, it's a pain in the a** to sync the trophies. when you have restored your hdd you have to load each game that had trophies on your ps3. it will show you have 0% if i remember correctly. go to another persons profile and hit "compare trophies" and it should resync. i found that out through trial and error. it was weird.

Yeah...pain in the a**, but easily doable. Depends how many games you have trophies for. Could take 10 min...could take more.
