Well, the unpopular ones at least. At 40%+ health, an Aquarium is able to grant retired EIs [Namely, Tama's Basket, Dandiidoodad Spore, Fausto's Bottle, Dionaesil, and Pantheracorax Agate so far] through the Overseer.
Opinions on this? I think the idea of granting Cash items justifies investing Cash into Aquariums, so it balances out the negativity of paying for decorations/fish in the long run.

You spend about $5 on an EI when it's out. You spend $0.5 on a fish that lasts about two weeks, or get it free from a chance system. If you add that up, you'll spend, at the very least, two weeks getting the tank up to 40% health, which is when the fish start to die. Thus, you'll need about ten fish, the same amount as the conditional EI, to actually have the CHANCE to get one. Thus, you'll need to spend either more on fish, or more on decorations, not to mention the tedious work of feeding and working to keep to the tank's health on it's own. But, unless you get some awesome drops ahead of time from the Overseer, you can use your in-game gold for it, spending countless amounts of gold on Goldfish and extra Overseers. So unless you want to keep using your quest money on more goldfish, you're just going to be trading in fish for old EIs.

The Iron Magus I think its pretty awesome. I haven't spent a dime on my aquarium, but thanks to the fish I get from daily chance, the happiness is steadily increasing. Take THAT, the system. Indeed, I passed 20 a few days ago.
