Not really punishment, but the tubas would come up with words of the day. If our old head director (resigned. :c ) would say that word, we would clap. One time, we had to come to a pre-game practice early so we could practice the pre-game (SSB and such) with the other school's band, Crestview. So our director was on the tower arranging us, both bands. Before he got on the tower, the tubas decided on "Crestview." Crestview's band was so confused. The trumpet players by me from cview (it was like choctaw crestview choctaw crestview) asked me and they thought it was funny.

Zerius Alsinon there was one time when we had to do calf training! We marched up and down the field...Caddy style!! for about 10 sets! ohh how there was much groaning and pain all around! but it did allow us to roll our feet better and march easier with the toes pointed! We do that before every practice! Except we don't do it for sets, we just do it for like thirty yards.

Well, if we're outta step the director'll scream @ us. The drum majors are preps and will give us all dirty looks. And if we do stuff wrong, he'll put us out in the cold if it's winter and make us play the same song over and over again until our fingers are numb.

if one person in a section wore flip-flops or not shoes at all, that section would have to run one lap around the track.

Well, usually our band director simply makes us run laps, but he has yet to figure out that that's not really much of a punishment for us since some of us would still run laps by will by the end of practice so we don't really mind the running.
If we do something wrong or are inconsistent, our BD makes us run laps.
During summer band, the squad leaders make us do push ups if we mess up. Its either that or dynamites. Then we also do the whole arm lift thing.
If we're late, we're either kicked out or ridiculed in front of the band by our lovely BD... -_-;

Everytime one person was out of line, or their feet were marching wrong, the whole band had to do 10 push-ups. And if someone wasn't in perfect posture, that was another 10 push-ups.

We don't have any like that. If we did our band will whine and cry about it and most will drop out....babies.

If anyone was ever late to practice, you would have to stand in front of the whole band and sing&dance to " I'm a little Teapot "
It was hilarious to watch, since it never happened to me. = )

If you leave your music and the DMs find it - run around screaming "IM A PRETTY PINK PONY!!" No Dot-Book - Every time the BD says dot book = 15 pushups.
