She watched expectantly, awaiting for him to rise and stand beside her, idly running her hand through wisps of stray hair. A small gesture of impatiens flared upon her features, her hand coming to rest before her, long ivory fingers beckoning onward. A soft sigh issued forth as she watched his legs buckle beneath him, the last of his strength used up in an attempt so futile yet so resilient, a slight pout arched itself upon her lips as she pondered upon the situation once more, Aeval found herself think upon the weakness of the human body, so inferior to those made to her standard, so easily trampled underfoot. A distant thunder interrupted her thoughts, her gaze shifting around the room to locate the source, piercing eyes falling upon the mans stomach, obviously the culprit to such a sound, the idea of human food brought a shiver throughout her body, her race could easily digest such meals, but the taste, the taste is not what it was, like ashes upon the mouth lost of all flavor, no juices to enlighten any silent pleasure. Moving toward the door, hand inclined toward a simple yet rough string that led to a dull bell, clasping it firmly within her grasp she rang three times calling any servant in distance to her door. "Fine dear sir you shall not be, your require food, and so it will be brought, are you not accustomed to asking a servant to bring the food to you, it is hardly troubling for them when they are paid so handsomely".
Aeval perched upon the only chair within the room, resting her head lightly upon her arm as she awaited both the servant and the man before her to talk. Her destination could wait, for now, she would play with her new toy before boredom once more descended upon her, he was after all pleasing to look upon, and she was sure he had certain talents that would require some more research into.

Alwyn shook his head and gave a sigh ''I didn't grow up with servants to obey my every whim and I've never had them to do so, my family wasn't wealthy enough to have servants our town really supported each other. Everyone worked together to keep the town going so I've never known the luxury of having people to do things for me but I can see how it would be useful at times not to mention its giving someone else money to live'' he said before giving a rather nasty sounding cough. ''By all means you don't need to sit up here and eat with me, go down stairs and enjoy your meal in the tavern I don't mind I'll probably be asleep before to long'' said Alwyn before giving another cough.
He looked to the window for a moment ''I don't think I would of lasted another night out there by myself, I haven't had any proper company since...well lets just say its been a while since I've had any real company especially someone so kind and beautiful'' he said with a smile.

Aeval erupted in laughter, silken chimes echoing around the room in joyous giggles, an elagent hand raised before her mouth, lashes closed upon velvet cheeks. Kind! Well she wasnt going to argue with him over such petty matters, nor deter him for thinking such a thing, however kind she is not, a mere child may enlighten her spirit, her love- if it can be called such, would swamp the child in a warm embrace, but give her a few weeks, days even, and boredom with her new toy would set in and a new feast would present itself. No she would let him believe what he wanted, where is the harm in hiding behind a veil of disguise. "Now now mon cher, you are to kind, such compliments, you shall make a girl blush if you continue. rest where you are and I shall return before long, I guess my body does require some nourishment, as for the luxury you speak of, enjoy it, you may not receive the chance again". reaching within the cloth to her side, her hand grasped a small yet heavy pouch, delicately setting it upon the table she moved of, carrying herself effortlessly, elegantly out toward the door, one quick glance trailed over the man upon the bed assuring herself of her choice.
Time passed, snow pelted around her face, features just as pale as the surrounding landscape peered out, watching silently as her prey moved slowly down heading towards its destination, worn out by the constant struggle. quick deadly footsteps brought her beside him, an ivory smile flashing brightly in the night sky alerted the man to her presence, his heart speeding up with the suddenness of it all. Aeval felt herself rise to the occasion, the thrill of the greeting, the constant teasing as she played with her feast. He was middle aged, a working man, the muscles he bore showed that he kept himself physically fit, grinning with appreciation at this nice gesture she sidled closer, after all blood always tasted sweeter when the meal was healthy. Dull eyes ran over her, appraisingly, a rough voice spoke out. "I would suggest you find shelter my child, it is dangerous to walk these streets, especially for such a beautiful female as yourself, a thief may take advantage". His words only brought a greater achievement, a sense of righteousness as she turned to him, standing within his great shadow, a silken voice uttered out "It is not the thieves that worry me, rather the demons who patrol the night sky" an involuntary shiver ran down her spine adding to the scenario, as she huddled closer, feigning innocence as she rested her head upon his shoulder, his pulse vibrating through her as he took the bait, obviously finding himself in a much better situation then he had planned for the night. Shame it was about to end. Sharp white teeth sunk into supple flesh, emerald liquid flowing free, settling upon her pallet, quenching her thirst, sweet wine spilling free, such a vibrant colour outlined upon pure snow. It ended so quickly, where was stood a strong being now stood a corpse, dropping him upon the ground she set of toward the tavern, her stomach full.

Alwyn watched her go smiling to himself thinking about how lucky he had been after being so close almost in deaths grip only to be taken from the cold darkness into the warmth of the tavern by his current companion and savior. She...she was not like anyone he had ever met she was different as though she knew things that most people wouldn't he couldn't put his finger on it but there was something different about her, he wouldn't mention it to her as he didn't want to offend her in anyway yet he was curious.
He closed his eyes and waited for her to return after a few minutes though he drifted off to sleep. He was home back in his childhood village there were people everywhere villagers his family and friends, there was laughter and music the smell of hot food was wafting through the air the sky was dark but torches lighting the streets and the moon itself lit the village. The laughter suddenly stopped and was replaced by screams and howls of pain he looked around desperately trying to see what was happening ''Papa whats happening?'' he asked looking up to his father not wanting to leave his side. People were running and pushing now trying to escape but what they were trying to escape he didn't know, people were being knocked to the ground by people but not by accident they were being easily pulled to the ground being pinned down while the figures leaned over them. The smell of blood was filling the air his father was suddenly knocked down ''Papa!'' yelled Alwyn as he turned to stop to see one of the figures leaning over him he couldn't see them clearly though the shadows from the houses covered their face. ''Ru-Run Alwyn d-don't look back'' his father gasped as the figures held its mouth to his neck. He turned and ran as fast as he could go the screams and smell of blood were still in the air as he reached the forest and turned to see the village burning.
He sat up suddenly drenched in sweat and his eyes wide as he swung his arm in a defensive manner as though trying to defend himself knocking over the bedside table with a loud thump. He was shaking as he closed his eyes and tried to calm himself.

Aeval resided within the chair, a mere candlelight fighting the darkness that surrounded the sleeping figure, the fire within the furthest corner brought the only source of warmth to this child like room. A soft moan emitted from the man before her, as he tossed and turned, pain etched across his features, as he struggled with the visions that caused such distress. She had returned after her feast, fully energized and replenished from the long hack, the taste of him still lingering upon her pallet, making her way back to the small tavern, she had relived memories from her past, livening her up, a skip in her step as she gentle knocked upon the door, smiling sincerely to the lady as she permitted her in, a large gold coin pressed into her hand before Aeval ran lightly up the stairs returning to the sleeping gent. He awoke sharply, eyes fearfully sweeping the room looking for a culprit or another, suddenly drawing a breath in as he realized his surroundings, his body going limp with fatigue. Though tired from such an inward battle, Alwyn had recovered much of the color that was lost, no longer shaking uncontrollably, he had regained a stature, a presence that was not there before. His eyes locked onto hers, a small smile filtering upon his lips, apparently an apology of such, for what she did not know. She spoke softly, aware of the sleeping inhabitants of the house; "Bad dreams sir" Her eyebrows raising, emphasizing her words, it was not a question, merely a fact, it was obvious that trouble dreams persisted his sleep, the screams of past memories still felt within the room, a subtle tear in the quite solace of the peaceful town. "They say that a secret shared, is a secret halved, no longer wielding all the power that it has upon you......I have no intention of prying, but if you have need of a listener, then I would gladly listen to you sorrows permitted that it will help." A kindly smile passing across her features.

Alwyn was relieved to see that Aeval had returned he was curious to where she had gone but thought it was best not to pry. He gave a small nod and smile in appreciation 'Thank you...I've never spoken to anyone about these nightmares before but you seem genuinely interested and you did save my life so I'll explain to you why I have them'' he said softly not wanting to wake anyone else in the tavern. He sighed and closed his eyes for a moment as though looking for the right words to say ''About ten years ago...I still lived in my home village I was only a child at the time and every year around the end of autumn on the edge of winter we would have a village festival...and this particular year..'' he sighed and closed his eyes once more. ''We were attacked...I remember screams and howls of pain dark figures tackling people to the ground...I didn't even see my mother vanish but I knew what happened to her...my father told me to run and I saw him get tackled to the ground one of the attackers pressing its mouth to his neck...drinking his blood'' he whispered.
''Vampires came to our village that night and slaughtered everyone I could hear them laughing as they did it...my mother died and my father died...my friends...relatives everyone I knew perished that night while these creatures laughed and feasted on them...I was the only survivor. They killed everyone young or old and so I swore that night to find and kill them all each and every last vampire who came to the village that night and killed everyone I loved and knew and so I've been searching ever since'' he whispered a cold loathing tone in his voice not like his usual self. His eyes were hard and cold they held no love, warmth or kindness only a lust for blood for those who had destroyed everything he knew ''I'm haunted by the nightmares of what happened'' he added, not looking at Aeval but as though he was looking through her back to that night.

She listened intently, every word of his painting a picture so clear, as if she herself had been there that dreadful night. A slight frown creased her forehead as his words spun out a web of horror and fear, blood drenching every scene. Smirking inwardly Aeval remembered such nights when she participated in those hunting parties, choosing a village, or some rabble of travelers to prey upon, the stench of fear as the pitiful humans realized they weren’t alone on that night , the intoxicating allure of blood, their screams an ecstasy of sorts. Oh yes those times where a delight to remember, however it had been awhile since she had taken part in such a raid, and those who banded with her had long dispersed into the night and there own adventures, so who where these vampires, they could not be the old ones, those following the rules of old, if not then they must be of the new breed, weaker as the blood dilates- holding not all the power of old, but recklessly leaving destruction in their wake, ignoring all rules laid down by the forefathers. Her thoughts ran over and over as she tried to think of the culprits, those responsible for this deed, bringing herself back to the present she smiled sympathetically, knowing the loss of loved ones. However this put her position in rather an awkward placement, his hate for her kind was obviously blinding, and little bartering could change that, only understanding, and it was hardly likely that she could ask him to understand their plight. Aeval was not fearful for her life, she could if needed dispatch this male, though some struggle may erupt. "Your story is heartbreaking, to see so many of those you loved destroyed, killed for pleasure, you must surly detest those who are to blame". The fire within his eyes where answer enough.

He looked away for a moment after she had spoken, he said nothing for a few moments before he looked to her his eyes full of hate, anger and pain ''I detest them most definitely, but that night my family and village died I swore I would hunt them down and destroy them all. I don't care if it kills me I don't care how much suffering I'll endure I won't be able to be at peace until their bloodied corpses litter the ground. When the people I knew and love have been avenged and I know their spirits and rest peacefully, they did nothing wrong to die in such a way'' he said as a few tears welled up in his eyes which he quickly wiped away.

Venom etched every word, murderous intent gleaming from raging eyes, his muscles taught and tensed as if his prey where before him, shouting out a challenge, ready to dual for all that he held dear. Silence descended upon the room, the sleeping inhabitants wakening from their deep slumber, readying for the day ahead, dogs barked, feet shuffled back and forth, all these sounds could be heard outside, everyday life continuing on, oblivious to the open hostility shredding from this one being. A slight smirked played upon Aeval’s lips, her head arched toward the window, the morning light silhouetting her against the backdrop, before she moved of, settling by the door, an ivory clad hand resting upon its frame, a studious expression replacing the sudden play of features. Her mind was made up, she would help this gentlemen achieve his goal, but first she must break her oath of long ago, and divulge him in the secrets of the vampire sect. Only then would he realize that not all where ravenous creatures set on destruction, using the humans for mere toys, that bonds between human and vampire where not impossible, even though rare they where. But to do so, would be placing her life within his hands, for Aeval was not innocent of her bad deeds, who reveled at blood shed, the passion of the kill, the desire for death; her sire had taught her well. However she had often found herself pitying some prey, watching their lives play out, and so of late those she preyed on where the illness of every society, murderous, greedy, contemptuous, lustful inhabitants that spilled out of every seem. Talking toward the door, her voice lowered to a mere whisper, she spoke “If you wish for your purpose to be achieved, then we have much to discuss”.

He could hear the noises from outside the window down on the street below, people starting their day again despite the bitter cold winds and freezing snow, he all the noises he heard except for Aeval's voice there was something different about it. Something he had not heard before. He stood from the bed and moved over to her still obviously needing rest but a fiery determination burned in his eyes ''I will travel to the ends of the earth, to hell and back and fight until my dieing breath so long as those who committed the crimes against the people I loved die for what they did'' he said softly and dangerously. ''What do you mean that we have much to discuss? Do you have information on the vampires? Of where they've been? Where they're going? Where they are? If you do you must tell me quickly'' he said a hint of desperation in his eyes.
