wow....that beat my score....when i was in highschool i use to read a 200 pg book every day...but that was because i was kind of an outcast.. hmmm i suggest you close the book. if you have to throw it out of your room. and just lay there. you will eventually fall asleep. and if you have insomnia..your going to have to take sleeping pills.

ok, well, i'm not a fast reader so we don't have the same problem, but i've had a problem like that with drawing. i mean, i couldn't put a pencil down without thinking of making it better or coming up with something better. and the same way that people read to escape from the world through books was the way i turned to a notebook and pencil than look at the world in front of me. what you have to do is you have to set it as far away from you as you can. like, leave all your books in your room and stay in a different part of your house. or maybe get out of your house and see what you've been (perhaps subconsciously) hiding from. you'll get over it, or at least begin to get over it, once you separate it from yourself.

ya know, i kinda have to agree with Felt Teeth. how is reading too much a problem? i know people who somehow managed to graduate high school with out reading a SINGLE book, or setting foot in the school library!
to no one's suprise, it hasn't helped them any.
reading increases overall inteligence, vocabulary, makes you look as smart as you are, helps A LOT with school work, and gives you loads of knowledge most people don't have.
i see no down side.

okay, i don't know w/c side to agree upon reading all the suggestions/opinions... but to think of it, it's not that bad to read lots of books... but it's bad when you don't eat, sleep, or don't do something you must do because of reading...(i don't know if there's someone like that o_o) but if that's the case, agree w/ the stay-away-or-sleep-your-way-out-of-the-book idea... 3nodding

Koolcat: I tend to put off everything [put off, not just not do] because of my reading.
Gerbil: Then I must be the smartest person my age alive.
Felt Teeth: Yes, it is, as soon as I can I will give you the story why.
Okay, I tend to read about 60-70 pages an hour, but that's averaging in the hours that I don't read. I've found that I'm actually and addict. I went three days without reading once and I ended up puking. Ask my friends. But what I tend to do, is read three books at once. Two small [between 70 and 300 pages] and read those before bed and for short times throughout the day and week. I normally finish those on my weekly schedual. The third book is normally 500+ plus pages, and is read during the day or week ends, all depending on how my time is. It takes longer to finish the books, but it's worth it.

I'm addicted to books too.. You'll rarely find me without any book in my hand.. But i learn to stop myself and learn to put the book down.. I'm a fast reader too..I can finish 4 books (200++ pages) in a week.. I usually try to stop at the end of every chapter.. It helps.. Slowly you'll get use to it.. So,u can really stop reading when you need to..

I used to be like that. I'd read so much. On the bus, in class, on the bus, walking, at home, at night. I started taking this online class, and now there isn't much time for reading. Just do something to make yourself busy, another commitment. You can still read, but only when there's nothing else to do, like you're riding in a car.
