Abacus had become all limbs and managed to deflect all of Khamsyn's attacks. He was truly impressed by his opponents survival instinct. Impressed and more than a little annoyed. Abacus could not keep this up forever, he would slip up eventually, Khamsyn just had to keep pushing. In the back of his mind he wondered when this stopped being a friendly match and became a full fledged battle. He still knew that there was no animousity between them. No hatred. And in the end they'd walk away very tired and hopefully good friends. But that was in the end. And it wasn't over just yet.

The last combination almost worked, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Once more Khamsyn fired out the old one-two punch followed by a kick he hoped would find the every so elusive opening he needed.

Abacus stole a quick moment to swipe at the sweat soaking his forehead. Whew! After this he'd need to take a shower, providing that he didn't collapse in bed.

...or on the arena floor. That looked quite comfortable right now.

Here he comes! Abacus readied himself, preparing to block all incoming moves. This time, though, he threw caution to the wind, turning his last block into a punch aimed right at Khamsyn!

The first block was knocked aside successfully -- it was the second that Abacus didn't react in time for. "Oof!" He gasped, and then came the kick. The phlegmatic was knocked back onto the ground, whereupon he closed his eyes.

...ow. Just... ooow. Okay, toes... fingers... ow! Lungs! Breathe! There we go... oh, hello there sky. I wonder if I can move my arms enough to take a picture of it...?

Khamsyn felt his kick hit meat and saw Abacus go down hard. Forgetting just how tired he was, he rushed over to the downed man and saw Abacus' eyes were open if not a little dazed. "Are you alright in there?" he asked, extending a hand to help the other man up off the ground. "That was a good match. Thank you." He felt awkward thanking Abacus for the match since the latter hadn't landed a single blow and was looking a little worse for wear, but he didn't know what else to say right now. "Seriously... are you alright?"

"Nnngh?" Abacus mumbled, forcing his eyes open wider before shutting them in a rapid blink. "Huu? Ah, more or less... agh! Where'd you learn to block?" He took a deep breath and raised his hand with effort, clasping Khamsyn's hand and using it to sit up. "Hoogh, I don't think I could hit you at all! Er, what's your name again? I don't think we've been introduced... I'm Abacus, and don't worry. What hasn't killed me just makes me stronger, yeah?" He managed a laugh, adding, "At this rate, I think I've become best friends with ice packs, haha."

Khamsyn chuckled and hit made his lungs ache just a little. Abacus may not have hit him, but he still wasn't used to this much physical activity. He shook his head and smiled. "Kallisto taught me to block. She made sure I had it down cold too. Frankly, I think my defense had more to do with blind luck than actual skill though." He knelt down beside Abacus and then, feeling a tightening in his legs, sat down outright instead. "Oh, I'm Khamsyn. Nice to formally meet you Abacus."

Khamsyn just sat there for a little bit until Abacus was ready to stand. He had to make sure his opponent really was okay and could move under his own power. If not, he felt obligated to help him back to his dorm room. Where ever that may be. "I'm not an ice pack, but I hope we can be friends anyways." He waited to see if there were any hard feelings, though he doubted there would be.

Abacus laughed, using his hands as a support to make sure he wouldn't fall back down. "Oh she did, did she?" He asked, grinning, "She probably didn't want you to turn out like me. She's funny when you dodge out of her kicks -- she actually got to the point where she grabbed and threw me!" He paused, tilting his head to one side and considering, "I tried to that, but... it didn't work out so well. Sorry for yanking on your leg like that."

"Ah! It's a pleasure to meet you, Khamsyn. That was a good work-out," he shifted his weight and made his way to his feet, placing his feet apart for stability. "Hgh-!" He grunted and knelt down again, taking a moment to regain his breath. "Haaa, unfortunately for an ice pack, all it can do is just sit there. Care to lend a hand, buddy?" He asked with a big grin, making a feeble attempt to charm Khamsyn into helping out.

"Don't worry about it. If you hadn't dropped my leg right after, I would have been in trouble." Khamsyn watched Abacus stand, or at least try to. Even as he was asking for help, Khamsyn had already moved in and helped support his weigh. "No worries. I've got ya. Just let me know where you live and I'll deliver you there. Then I'll have to go shower... boy do I stink now!" He responded, laughing.

Helping Abacus out of the Arena and back towards the dorms he couldn't help but think that this was one heck of a start to his dueling education. It almost made him consider wanting to become a Duelist some day. But he shouldn't let one victory go to his head. That was a good way of losing it next time.

He made sure Abacus was delivered to his room, then headed back towards his own. By that time, the desire for a shower was superceded by the overwhelming need to sleep. He collapsed face first onto the bed and was asleep before he felt the pillow against his cheek.
