My Number one game is HM 64. It could be because it was my first one, but i replayed that game so many times. I Love the festivals and it is fairly easy to marry people and get your rivals married.
I also enjoy Magical Melody. it is a really cute game.
A Wonderful Life is good but it drags on.
Save the Homeland was one of the best, aswell.

Another wonderful life. because of this, plug a second controller into your nintendo then press z on it make sure your games not paused. enjoy heart

Porbably Harvest Moon DS/DS Cute.
It gives you soooooooo much to do, like, saving all the harvest sprites and the Harvest Goddess.
Also, it's more realistic.
In the "you start with nothing" way.
Plus you have to work really hard to get high quality stuff.
Many other things too.
Sure, in Island of Happiness you have to make the island inhabitated by being a great farmer but, it lost the old school feeling.
Not that I don't like it anyways.
But in my opinion, Harvest Moon DS (cute) are the most enjoyable after the first Harvest Moon game (snes).

Uhm, I think Magical Melody is pretty hard, unless you're trying to get all those notes and not planning to marry Jamie.
( Marrying Jamie ends the game, which I wish it didn't because I like Jamie the most out of all the bachelors. :C )
Some notes are especially hard to get, like the "Master Angler note". But it's still fun, and you can get most of the notes.
But that's what I think. Another Wonderful Life is kinda hard too, if you're trying to steer your child into a career you want him to be at.
I would leave my child alone for a season with the hopes of him becoming an artist, and all of a sudden his interest as a scholar jumps up.
Gawd, I hated Daryl so much after that. >__O

He's the hybridizing plant you can get in A(n)WL. If you have him, USE HIM!! You will not regret it, unless maybe you don't want your kid to grow up to be a farmer. oops, sorry, I forgot this part. sweatdrop The best game in my opinion is A Wonderful Life: Special Edition. It's just uber awesome. heart But I also love Save the Homeland for the Sweet Potato ending! heart Finally, someone answered me. When do you get him?? I'm pretty sure that you have to ship a crop that's like, A-quality and talk to Takakura alot. Then go into his house and you should get him.
I don't know about the A-Quality part. I got angry and read some guides on him and it said nothing about crops. I'll try that next though, I'm reaaaaaaaaally angry I can't get him. I got him on my first file...then my game glitched and now I have an invisible cow I can't find. Murrrrr.
Tartan is awesome though, and he's not boring either, some of the stuff he says is funny.

Tree of Tranquility takes a bit to get used to, but it's a great game! There just isn't enough room to store everything...~cries~ My fridge is full...I have so much stuff, but I can't use it for recipes because I don't have all the ingredients. It's a big island too. It takes a while to transverse the thing. But that raccoon is butt-ugly. At least it looked ugly to mee...THe marriage candidates aren't too bad.
