"Thanks. I'll be right back."
Rory backtracked his steps towards where he though might have been a bathroom, as he'd opened a few doors here and there on his second trek to the kitchen, and as he opened the door and stepped in he slipped off his wet pants and into the dry ones. He hadn't noticed boxers of any kind amongst the clothes she offered (not that he would wear them anyway) and as he zipped the pants off he noticed they hung about his waist.
"Lucifer must be built like a dream then. I've always been told I'm scrawny so for stuff to hang like this . . ."
He opened the door and stepped back out, making his way slowly to the kitchen and trying not to let the pants drag. He was sure they wouldn't fall off him completely if he just let go, but it was better safe than sorry.
"Okay, any changes?"

"Not really. Where you expecting it to turn into something?" Hilaire gave a slightly crooked smile. She was still drooling on the inside, and was trying her best to not let it show. This was going to be hard to not 'accidentally' catch him shirt off. She had already begun imagining the scenarios.
This wasn't like her, to be obsessing over some guy. Hilaire began to play with her ponytail, unable to remove her mind from her current thought pattern. She felt like a tween fawning over a pop star.

"Not really. Was trying to make conversation of some sort with you since I'm not really sure what to talk about anymore. We've already covered the basics of who we are and what out jobs are, so that seems like enough for now unless you really want to get to know me."
The man smiled as he slid onto a stool next to Hilaire, folding his arms so that his elbows were propped against the counter.
"Personally I don't mind getting to know more about you. You've probably already told me your biggest thing, what with being a sin and all, but I'm interested to know other things too. Being Envy isn't all that there is to you, right?"

"No...that's a pretty recent thing. My life hasn't been the greatest thing. I never got to stay in one place for too long, so I couldn't really make friends. And the one time I did...well, it didn't turn out so great." Her voice was laced with pain as she remembered the night in the library. The only person she really ever opened up to tried to kill her. Sometimes, she still had nightmares about it.
"The most eventful thing is probably Lucifer. He changed everything. Though, somedays I have to wonder if it is for the better, or for the worse."

"I'd say it's for the better. You seem a lot happier when you talk about him, you know?"
Rory smiled as he leaned against his hand, his eyes still set on Hil's face. She seemed so young to have had so much troubles and part of him wished to comfort her and let her feel safe in his arms, but another part of him reminded him that a certain demon that resided in the house with the pair would probably kill him if he ever did something like that.
Not to mention sleeping with someone as a means of comfort didn't really seem like such a good idea. If he didn't regret it shortly after he probably would later down the line once the girl figured out things on her own. Rory was pretty sure she liked him in some way or another, but he knew that feeling was most likely only sudden puppy love.
"I hope now though since you're getting more people into this home that you'll find ways to enjoy your life more. I could always teach you how to bake different things to help you pass your time, and you could always talk to me to keep me awake before I need to move to my next job."
