"We've been gone for so long now."
Najwa didn't reply. The last months have been a surreal experience. Coming back to D-Corp, to her past life was going to be a real challenge. So she stood quiet, contemplating her surroundings.
The market was full of people selling wares, beggars harassing by-passers and the usual group of old men talking about politics as if they were preaching religion.
And there they stood, just outside of H. R. Wesley, trying to enter a world they no longer belonged to. If they could find a link, a fraction of their past, then perhaps, just then, could they return.
"Just shut up and keep watching. We can't go home empty handed tonight."

To Raven, Gaia had never been home. A place of work, of research, of maybe even grudging respect- which was the best that could be hoped for in a relationship with Raven- but never of comfort. So when she returned, very little felt out of place to her. If anything, she was as annoyed with her life here as she always was.
"Mahou should really be doing this," she grumbled, "but we are both in need of new clothing. And I refuse to let you buy your own this time. This is a respectable shop; I'm sure you can find something suitable." They stopped outside of H.R. Wesley, and Raven used her reflection in the mirror to adjust her hairdo.
Anoki just sighed. Raven may not have been happy, but she wasn't miserable either. He knew that fitting back in would be torture. In fact, he had suspicions that Raven had prolonged their stay abroad for precisely that reason. If he lost all his friends, it would make life easier for her, but little better than imprisonment for him.
As Anoki was mulling over his future life alone, his eyes fell on a young girl also looking in the store. An unusual girl. Myung-Ki saw her too, and decided to go over. After all, his master was being sad and boring again, and wasn't giving him nearly enough attention. Besides, maybe this would annoy Raven, which was always high on Myung-Ki's "to-do" list.
Lashing his tail back and forth, the dragon ambled over to the girl and butted his face into her side. Nothing like the direct approach, after all.

Haruyuki watched the new comer curiously from the corner of her eye. Even though Haru was considered a weak and a pretty useless magical creature, she could still sense other magical users. She smiled to herself as she watched the unusual trio coming over.
“Hey kid, jódete.” She said while smirking, leaving a very confused Najwa behind.
It didn’t take too long for Najwa to understand what she meant, being head-butted by a dragon wasn’t part of a daily routine of work. She panicked a little; Haru had left her alone with a pretty darn big red dragon.
“H-hey! Don’t do that… MA!!!” She screamed, just to realize Haru had pretty much fled from the scene. This was definitely not good.

Anoki was so into his thoughts that he hadn't noticed Myung-Ki leave his side. But he heard the screaming, and when he saw that the dragon had wandered off, he winced. Myung-Ki was the cause of more screams than he cared to remember. Fortunately, he'd gotten slightly better at being firm.
"Myung-Ki, st-stop!"
That did get the red's attention for about three seconds. But when he saw that Anoki didn't have food or shinies, he went back to rubbing against the girl. Maybe she would have something for him.
Sighing, Anoki ran over and actually pulled on Myung-Ki by his gold collar. "I'm s-sorry," he said sadly. "He d-doesn't mean anything b-bad, he j-just wants to l-look at you b-better."
Which was not entirely true, but close enough in Anoki's opinion.

"Well, he looked close enough!" Najwa spouted angry, but she quickly winced. This wasn't how she wanted to answer. "But I didn't mind, really, it wasn't scary... or something..." Her voice kept lowering, each word pronounced weaker, feeble, than the last.
So she stared at Anoki. He was very different from the other kids she had met, although she hadn't met many. She could assign a finger to each of them with one single hand.
"You're from D-Corp, verdad?" She asked him, letting her eyes wander over his body. She couldn't stop her curiosity, it had no limits. Nor her respect for personal space. She wasn't so sure if she understood a thing called privacy, or that she cared about silly issues such as comfort zone.

It wasn't the words that stuck Anoki so much as the tone the girl used. Upon hearing it, he shrank back, but kept a firm hold on Myung-Ki's collar. "I r-r-really am s-sorry," he all but whispered. "He d-didn't h-hurt you, d-d-did he?"
Mying-Ki bristled angrily. Of course he didn't hurt her! If he'd wanted to hurt her, he would have made it obvious.
When it seemed that she had calmed down a little, Anoki began to relax- just a little. "Uh... y-yes. I g-guess you are t-too." He noticed her looking at him, but didn't really mind. At least she wasn't yelling at him anymore.

"Not really, he just... surprised me! Yeah, that was all! So, no me pidas perdón, oka?" Najwa said, regretting her earlier tone. She felt as she had a sign stamped on her forehead saying 'BEWARE SOCIAL AWKWARDNESS!' and things along those lines.
Najwa watched Mying-Ki bristle, she gulped loudly. "Y a ti qué?" She said, preparing herself to run her a** off the second the dragon made an attacking gesture. She was all quarrel and no brawls, or brain for that matter.
"That's great! Yeah! We can do some neat stuff... like trabajar! Juntos!" She said, excited to have some action!
[ no me pidas perdón, oka? = don't ask me to forgive you, ok?; Y a ti que? = and what about you? in an annoyed grosser tone, in Najwa's case it would be a cowardly warning. XD;; trabajar = work, in Najwa's life it means thievery o Ao;; juntos = together
Do forgive Najwa, she's not that bright. It'll probably get her into trouble with red dragons and all types of authorities. > .> ]

Anoki squinted as he struggled to keep up, but he wasn't sure what language the other girl kept slipping into. "Uh... uh, I'm s-sorry," he repeated. When in doubt, he felt it was safest to apologize. "H-he's still learning h-how t-to behave."
Annoyed, Myung-Ki jerked hard, trying to wiggle out of Anoki's grip. Why was he being treated this way? Hadn't his human learned anything yet?
While he tried to keep his grip, Anoki was at a loss for what to say. What was she saying? "Um... c-could you s-say th-that again?" he asked slowly. At least she sounded enthusiastic, but he couldn't really agree without knowing what she was saying.
((XD; Don't worry, Anoki's been constantly told he wasn't smart, so he believes it. Also, if it would be easier on you, you don't have to translate everything. While not fluent, I know a decent bit of Spanish [and can ask my mom if I'm truly lost]))

Najwa was getting desperate. Why was the other kid saying sorry so much? She extended her hands upfront, eyes squinting, signaling for Anoki to stop. "Stop it, de verdad, don't be sorry, just don't be. Está bien?"
But she quickly perked up again at the mention of her plans. Putting her hand around Anoki's neck, and her tail around Myung-Ki, making sure to include him on her plan. "Work together, hombre! Será divertido, you know, fun!"
She smirked, her eyes glancing quickly to her sides, just to make sure nobody was going to interrupt her little meeting. "But it's a risky game, te lo advierto, ok?"
What she didn't know its that her Ma, Haruyuki, even though she was amused by Najwa's actions, was watching closely, waiting for her to get into trouble. After all, it was her responsability.

"I-" About to apologize again, Anoki cut himself off. If she was mad at him for saying sorry, saying sorry about it probably wouldn't help. But what could he say instead? With his usual fallback not there to support him, he was completely speechless.
Myung-Ki noticed, and couldn't help being amused. He was sick of the constant apologizing too, and it was funny to see that without it, he was frozen stiff. Which gave the Red an idea. For a moment he paused, then tugged hard, trying to wrench his collar out of Anoki's grip.
It worked, but only for a moment. Realizing what had happened, Anoki lunged forward and grabbed Myung-Ki by one of his horns. "Uh... what did you w-want to d-do?" he asked, curious. He didn't really like taking risks, but if she was going to, he felt obligated to go along with it. Maybe he could keep things from getting too bad.
Raven was also watching, but only absently. While she knew that Anoki was talking to another D-Corp subject, she had gone inside and started to browse. After all, she needed clothing too, and if she could select his clothes as well, all the better.
((XD I understand~ It's always fun to RP with people from different cultures!))

"Muy bien! That's the spirit mate!" Najwa said, while giving poor Anoki a wink. She watched the exchange between the two with amusement. She wondered what her dragon would be like. Her first impression on the description of her dragon was that of a chicken.
“Alright, before I spit out the goods, I need to test your abilities. You need to be stealthy, cautious yet brave and most importante…” she said, her voice almost like a whisper. “…you need to be helluvah fast on yer feet.”
That statement broke of the enchantment instantly. She said it in a flat voice, like suggesting that if he didn’t posses such skill; he was predestined to fail miserably.
"But first I need to know my partners’ names! Can’t do business with shady people, if you know what I mean. The name’s Najwa Lockheart, at your service." She bowed in front of her future partners in crime.

If nothing else, the girl was really enthusiastic, at least when Myung-Ki wasn't trying to nibble on her. Anoki couldn't help but smile a little at that. But he wasn't sure he liked what she was saying. He didn't think he was stealthy, but cautious he could do. Brave? Well, sometimes, but not usually. And fast... honestly, he wasn't sure. He usually skidded a bit on tile, but on concrete and dirt he was pretty good.
But what if he wasn't fast enough? Anoki swallowed, but nodded. He had to try, or who knew what would happen?
"Oh!" Of course, they had to introduce themselves. "Nice t-to m-meet you, Najwa. I'm A-A-" Pausing, he took a deep breath. "Anoki Kenelm. Uh, Millner," he added as an afterthought. "And th-this is Myung-K-Ki."
After he was introduced, Myung-Ki bobbed his head, more to be showy than in any real gesture of respect. He was curious too- whatever they were doing, it sounded like it would annoy the purple woman a lot. And that was always on the Red's to-do list.

Najwa tried to follow him voice. Did he said A. A. Anoki? Or just Anoki? ...Ke-what? Umillner? Weird... "Let's just stick with Anoki, shall we? You name is too long hermano." she said with a pathetic look on her face. She leaned closer to Myung-Ki. "You don't look like a Myung-Ki name type, too much trouble for a fancy name."
She grinned, by the looks of it, that dragon could cause the double, no, more than triple the times of trouble in this whole scheme.
"De cualquier manera, we have a job to do. It has a specific goal, simple yet difícil to do para aquellos not accustomed to this kinda work, you got?" She said with a half serious tone. “El plan is simple. First we observe the providers; ellos are anyone with goods on them.” She winked at them, sure that they were following her. “Then, we act stealthily and BAM we bump and grab the goods. You must act like no care in the world. Follow protocol, say sorry and all. All this must be done stealthily. If you get caught, then is the time to run helluvah fast on yer feet. Simple, eh?” she said, grinning proudly at her idea.

Anoki could only stare as Najwa spoke. Did she not like his name? Well, there was nothing he could do about that. And she used too many words that he couldn't understand. He could only hope that Raven wasn't listening; he had enough work to do without having foreign languages foisted on him.
It took him a few moments to wade through the mixture of languages, but when he realized what Najwa was saying, Anoki's eyes widened and his mouth dropped open. "You mean," he all but shouted, "st-!" Realizing his volume, he dropped his voice to a whisper. "You mean steal? But that's not nice!"
Myung-Ki snubbed the Iguana for her insult, but was still listening. As such, he liked the idea. He knew that Anoki usually had to give shinies in order to get shinies. If he could do the getting without the giving, that would be more shinies for him! Rather excited over that, he headbutted Anoki in the back, pushing him towards the girl.
Though his balance had improved somewhat, the push still made Anoki tip forward dangerously close to Najwa. He tried to regain his footing quickly, but could only hope he wouldn't knock her over.
