Drow yipped happily as Hope hooked him up to his leash. They had come to the city for Hope to get some things, and she had promised Drow that they could go to a park at some point. Drow didn't get to meet a lot of other dogs at their house, so he was always happy to go to parks, once he realized what they were. As the human and dog made their way out the door and down the sidewalk, they were soon enough at the park. There were a number of other dogs and owners in the enclosed area already, but Drow didn't recognize any of them. That was understandable, since it was a dog park. Hope knew that Drow would behave himself, he always did, so as soon as they were inside the fence, she let him off his leash to go make friends.

Hope made her way over to the other humans, who always stood around talking instead of playing, strange humans. In the mean time, Drow trotted quickly over to a pair of dogs, wagging his tail in a friendly manner. He found that his collar and appearance sometimes intimidated other animals, but Drow was such a sweetheart that any creature who gave him a chance would quickly forget fear. With this hope in mind, he said, "Hey there! I'm Drow."

Kaemara raised her head from her paws at the Bull Terrier, watching him approach with violet eyes crinkling at the corners, her long tail patting the ground lightly in delight. "Hello." She murmured in greeting, watching her owner walk off to leave the dogs be.

Slowly, the Retriever rose to her feet, shaking out her fur quickly with another wag of her tail. The collar around her neck clinked lightly, and she smiled, liking the noise. She paused for a moment to look at the collar that adorned the Terrier's neck with admiration and awe. Chain collars were very lovely if the dog looked good as well. She broke her gaze from he collar to greet the Terrier properly. "I'm Kaemara, but it's too long to say.... Call me Kae." She said with a gleeful smile.

On first appearances, Kae looked much like any other dog, except for her expressional violet eyes, quite unique for a Retriever. She was a rather free-natured dog, more into running around or lazing about in the grass then being a working dog as the rest of her litter had become.

Drow's tail wagged at a quick pace, being short and easy to do so with. He was glad that the other dog's tail mirrored his, since he was quite hoping to make a new friend today. As the retriever stood up, Drow was forced to look up slightly, but he didn't mind. He had grown accustomed to being shorter than many dogs, it just meant that he had to run a bit harder to keep up at times. As he looked at his companion's face, her eyes stood out easily, and wondered to himself how a dog got such a shade of eye color. His eyes were strange as well, with their lack of color, but hers were unique in a much more special way.

At her mention of a name, Drow nodded, "It's nice to meet you Kae, I'm Drow! That's pretty short, but you're welcome to call me any shortening that you prefer." Drow's voice was much more gentle than his collar and stocky body would reflect. Drow had a suspicion that Hope enjoyed the irony of dressing her teddy bear of a dog in aggressive collars. Once Drow got used to the spikes, though, he didn't mind one bit. That was how it usually was with Hope's ideas though, Drow loved his friend very much.

"So, what brings you to the park today?" Drow looked around a bit, obviously trying to make small talk with Kae, but it was a legitimate question.

Kae leaned her snout forward just slightly to sniff politely at him. She wasn't very used to other dogs just yet, but loved the company and the smells that they brought. "My owner is very kind, so she takes me to the park sometimes and leaves the little dogs (annoying dogs) at home." She grinned for a moment, letting out a short bark of laughter.

She sighed softly, snuffling with her pink nose for a moment at the air. It was a glorious day outside, with the warm air and the breeze making it seem less stifling. There were barely any clouds int he sky, and she took all these details into perspective, imagining what a human being must experience on such a day.

"What brings you here?" She said with a toothy, lopsided grin, repeating the question that was asked upon her.

Drow joined his new companion in laughter at the comment. Though he was shorter in stature, he did not consider himself a "little dog." From his experience those were dogs whose barks were high pitched, and for some reason felt the need to express themselves in that fashion quite frequently, to the annoyance of all but themselves. No, Drow had a much deeper vocalization, and used it only when necessary, or appropriate, such as laughter. There had been a few times when he had barked to the annoyance of Hope, but they were usually for good reasons, such as wild dogs intruding, and so she thanked him in the end. Usually with a delicious treat as well, so it was always worth it!

The bull terrier took in the scents all around him, of the other dogs at a farther distance, and of the retriever, Kae. She had a pleasant scent, and he didn't mind that she was investigating him as well. At her question, though, Drow had to laugh once more. "Well, Hope likes to come to the city to trade with other humans, and whenever she does, she promises to take me to the park, as well. I like it, but I this is the first time I've met a friend!" At that, Drow waved his thick tail once more, hoping that he had, indeed made a new friend.

Kae laughed quietly, and nodded her long-nosed head in agreement. "Yes, of course." She said, licking Drow's nose in a friendly greeting, her tail wagging like a banner. "Is that alright? Can we be friends?" She seemed so childish, even though she was nearly three years old.

She was overtly enjoying herself, especially the fact she was not alone. Her home was full of dogs, and yet, she felt secluded from their activities. She was a large dog compared to the others, and was treated as such, given careful distance by them.

But Drow, he wasn't a small dog. Yes, of course he was slightly smaller, but he wasn't one to mess with, that was certain. He had a great personality, and his voice and laughter was full of rich warmth and a feeling of pleasant conversation.

Though Drow was a bit surprised when Kae's long muzzle produced her tongue and she licked him, he realized that he didn't much mind. His facial features more than likely expressed his surprise at the action, but they quickly melded to an expression of happiness. Nodding enthusiastically, Drow gave a bark of agreement, "Yes! We can, and should, be friends!" Drow was fairly young himself, having only recently reached his adult build and temperament. Hope had raised him well, and so he was quite social for his breed, but he hadn't completely thrown off his puppy-ish ways. He preferred that though, since it was his experience that he was often much happier than older dogs who no longer enjoyed themselves.

Thinking over what the label of friendship actually meant, a question occurred to the bull terrier, "Where do you live Kae?"

"Close by." She said with a small laugh. She was truly happy now. She had a friend, a companion who she could speak to, who wasn't utterly smaller than she was. "It's an apartment. Yes, that's what my owner called it. Lots of room for us dogs. There's....me, Pitar, Fainne, and little Mizoo. It get's wild in there at dinner time." She said with a snicker.

Wagging her tail slightly, she laid down upon the grass, enjoying the sunshine that shone through the branches briefly each time they waved with the light breeze. "You seem to know this area fairly more than I do, correct?"
