This is where Loki will keep a back log of all previous newsletters and announcements that were made at .NET Hackers. The most recent one will be kept in the first post.
Announcement Time! September 28, 2008
Finally, a small list of completed and updated items can be released! Loki got all caught up in school and really neglected .NET Hackers...but fear not, for come October lots of new stuff will be released! She's got the sketches for the egg and child stage for the Viral Hackers completed, only has another four sketches to go, then to ink and template.
What has been updated, though are the following: *The rules for the shop! Much shorter, much simpler, oh so much better! *The FAQ! It has now become the .NET Hacker Survival Guide and is a much shorter and so much better version of the "Massive Guide" Loki used to have. *The Newsletter and Story update thread has now been divided into two separate threads! You can find the News in the OOC chatter subforum, and the Story and Meta Updates in the roleplay subforum. *There's also a new thread to be found in the OOC subforum. If you think your Hacker ought to have grown, but it hasn't, feel free to check out the Growth Request Thread.
In other news, Loki has also put the growth requirements into every journal that had a points log in it. If she messed up your layout, she apologizes, she didn't mean to. <3
The following journals were affected: kumori satoshi virgil genty noks souno and naose aya and niabi zest kiore and rioke aaldur nigh thyra enya
More updates comin' soon!

Early 2008 Newsletter
[ .NET Hackers - Newsletter by Loki ]
Loki has completed a massive slew of updates today, and as such, felt the need to tell all the details about what she's done. Not the entire to do list is done, but enough so that Loki feels comfortable posting a newsletter about what she has completed.
[ Meta News ] We have movement! Ladies and gentlemen, the meta has moved! Its hard to believe, I know, but Loki has finally posted a concluding post to the human portion of the meta. Three characters [Violetta, Kristian, and Slumber] were powerplayed out, Suki left last round, so we currently only have Raven and Vin waiting on tags in the meta. Please make your next post your exit!
The hacker meta will be concluding soon as well, with Li'tae bringing in missions to supplement the plot until we do part two. So stay tuned for more information on the hacker meta!
[ Mission News ] Speaking of missions...Li'tae has released five missions today! You can sign up for missions by clicking here.
And as a preview, here are the missions we've released for today. Loki has at least 10 more planned, so keep checking back! [1] The Hunt for a Replacement - Rank D [cannot start until after the hacker meta's conclusion] Li'tae discovers that Sionce intends on using Trisste as the anti-virus, a task that will destroy Trisste and replace him with something called ALICE. Due to recent events, Li'tae realizes how much he does not want Trisste to be erased...and begins to take steps against Sionce, to find a replacement suitable enough that Sionce can't say no. Thereby saving Trisste. And he needs your help.
[2] Trouble in Cyberspace Part 1 - Rank C Lit'ae has discovered some odd glitches in cyberspace that seem to be creating bizarre blips. Its unlike anything he's ever seen before, and a new Hacker may be the culprit. Help him discover who, or what, is causing these strange errors before Sionce finds out.
[3] Trouble in Cyberspace Part 2 [must complete part one before you may do part two] Oh no! Sionce has caught wind of the errors that are happening in cyberspace, and is on a mad quest to find out whats going on. His intent is revenge, and Li'tae has not only discovered that there's a new Hacker on the loose with some strange power...but that he appears to have a heart. One that doesn't want this new Hacker to be erased or reprogrammed because Sionce has a problem with it. Help him save this new Hacker!
[4] The New Hacker - Rank C The new Hacker appears to have been caught, now just to discover what the odd glitches are that have been happening. And if you can stop them or not. With Li'tae's assistance, investigate this new Hacker and figure out what it is.
[5] A Bad Joke - Rank D Ever the trickster, Li'tae has come up with a rotten joke to play on Adalia. Your goal is to create a note from a secret admirer and hack it onto her computer! If she believes you and falls for the joke, Li'tae might just have something to give you in return.
[ Breeding News ] Speaking of Li'tae news, the devious Hacker has also opened up his glitched data breeding. There are only two slots, though, so check it out if you're been waiting for an opportunity to breed your Hackers! The cost for a glitched data breeding will be 5,000 at this time.
To receive a glitched data breeding, two Hackers must meet in cyberspace with Li'tae present. He'll roll a number and both hackers will have to get within 10 digits of that number in order for a glitched breeding to happen. The resulting Hacker can be kept by either owner or given away freely at their discretion, so long as they let us know what they choose to do with it.
Fiach's breeding slots will open up nearer to Valentine's Day, so keep an eye out!
[ Regarding FAQs ] We now have a new, official FAQ! Its called the Massive Roleplay FAQ. In it, there's a short Q&A on what each type of RP is, how to tag another person, post order, and all about ERPs. If you have any questions you'd like to see added to the FAQ, feel free to post them here and I'll get them edited in as they're answered.
The Points Generating Explanation has a new post added to explain the difference between rank accumulation of points and the ones you spend on growing. So if you had any questions about if you lose all of your points, and therefore your ranking, upon growth, please check that out and see if it answered them suitable. If not, ask away so that I can fix that explanation.
The Massive FAQ has a new question added to it, "M.o5" in regards to rank points as well as "B.o6" in regards to breeding prices.
On an added note, the FAQs have been organized to include a number and a letter for easier navigation.
[ New Look ] The shop has gotten a new look! Banners and font color are all new and Loki plans on keeping this new look until the banners she ordered come in, so I hope you like it!
[ Growings ] And today we had the much belated growings for Noks, Aaldur, and Itomo. Congratulations guys and thank you again for your wonderful patience and understanding lately!
[ Winter Event Winner ] A huge thank you to all participants, and a big round of applause for Rabid Bunnie for winning the Frozen in Time roleplay contest! A PM has been sent your way with the information we need to get your prize to you soon.

.NET Hackers Announcement
The Point System's Disappearance! In a small fit of boredom and lack of sleep, Loki has concluded to re-design some of how the shop is run. And so, to make things much, much simpler, Loki has decided to completely get rid of the points system. It will be replaced with a currency and item system on Sunday, July 20, 2008. This system will be a lot easier to keep track of and maintain than the current exhaustingly confusing point system. Also, everyone who has been using the point system regularly for the past month will receive a free adult pass for each Hacker they've been rolling for points for. These growings may take a few days and will take priority over event Hackers for the time being.
To replace the point system, I'm going to be having actual roleplay requirements. Though there may be some adjustments made, here are the current requirements. I hope that everyone finds them to be fair. <3
From Egg to Child - Complete ERP - 1 Journal Entry
From Child to Adult - 2 Journal Entries - 3 PRPs - 1 ORP - 2 missions or quests
From Adult to Elder - 4 Journal Entries - 7 PRPs - 3 ORPs - 3 missions or quests - Participate in at least one meta with success
To explain - once you've reached the child stage, you will need two additional journal entries to grow to adult, and from adult you will need four additional entries to attain the elder status. I know that there are some heftier requirements to reach the Elder stage, but that is because the Elder stage is supposed to be 'rare'. Fairly soon I will be looking for an artist or two to serve as "cyborg Hacker" artists, and then we will open up a shop for those, with new RP reqs and a fee for that stage. ^^
Please note that this change will probably take full effect tomorrow, because Loki has to finish unpacking and cleaning house right now. icon_sweatdrop.gif
Summer Fun in the Sun! Due to Loki's recent move, she's pushed the summer event back to August 1, 2008 and it will last until September 2, 2008. The event will feature a set of auctions that will each last about a week, maybe two (if I run two at once). They will feature special lineart edited, summer themed elder hackers and if anyone does AB them, they will have the option to have the Hacker from the child stage thru elder, all of which will be edited. There will also be two raffles, an advertising contest, various other contests for hackers, items, and more, and two summer themed flatsales during that time frame. Except previews and more information on the event as it draws closer! (Event was later cancelled. Added Sept. 28, 2008 by Loki.)

Journal Inactivity All journals that have been inactive since 2007 have been moved to the recycle bin. The recycle bin is accessible to everyone, so if you'd like your journal to be moved back to the active journal section, please post a detailed journal entry in it, and then post in the shop that you've done so. Once Loki has double checked, she'll move your journal back to the appropriate section for it.
The list of people affected by this are: Torati Odyssia ninjadog103 Pascali Chesire Shadow Shikai-Chan Slumbersome Vendetta Angel Cassiopium + Sephiros Immortal + KeganDarkness Tanya Dawn
Roleplay Cleanup: All roleplays that have had no activity since before May of 2008 have also been moved to the recycle bin. Once again, if you'd like to "reactivate it", merely make a post in the thread and notify Loki that there's a new tag there and she will move it back to the active roleplays. If your roleplay was completed (i.e. has a "COMPLETE" tag in the title) it has been moved to the "completed roleplays" subforum of the guild. All links in your journals have, I believe, been broken by this move, so over the next day or two Rown and Loki will go through the journals and update with the new links for you.
Roleplay Requirements: In a small fit of boredom and lack of sleep, Loki has concluded to re-design some of how the shop is run. To replace the point system, I'm going to be having actual roleplay requirements. Though there may be some adjustments made, here are the current requirements. I hope that everyone finds them to be fair. <3
From Egg to Child - Complete ERP (You must post seven times in the ERP before you can end it!) - 1 Journal Entry
From Child to Adult - 2 Journal Entries - 3 PRPs - 1 ORP - 2 missions or quests
From Adult to Elder - 4 Journal Entries - 7 PRPs - 3 ORPs - 3 missions or quests - Participate in at least one meta with success

Insta-Grow Yes, folks, Loki hasn't forgotten. Everyone who has a child stage Hacker and used the point system for at least one month will receive a free growth to Adult! Please note; however, the insta-growth is only for active journals. So if you know you rolled for points a month and you want that free growth but your journal is inactive - then make a post in the journal to get it active again and post a reminder for Loki that you need that free adult! ^^ (If you rolled a few times one month and rolled the next, I'm still counting it. So if I missed you - please point me to the part of your journal that lists your points and I will add you to the list.)
List of people receiving the Insta-Grow: Adona Benedicta (Noks) Toxiin (Kiore and Rioke) Chrystali (Nigh)
FAQ Revamp The Massive FAQ is going through a huge revamp. If you have anythig you'd liek to see added to it, drop Loki a line! ^^ Customer input is always greatly appreciated. <3
October and Halloween To celebrate October and Loki's favorite holiday, we will be having a massive event of fun. Throughout the month of September she will be releasing tidbits on the upcoming plot, a new species of Hackers, and previews of what will be up for auction, raffle, gifts for your friends, and flatsale. As well as items for your Hackers to use - or for you to use on your Hackers! Among the things you can expect for items are ones to grow or freeze your hacker (only for the non-RP hackers - more on that later), accessories and wigs for them to wear, and much more!
Non-RP hackers? What? That's right, ladies and gents, Loki is dividing the shop up into RP-required and non-RP required. In the pursuit of active RP, the ones that are RP-required will actually cost you less than if you buy one that isn't RP required! The only way to get your Hacker to grow if you don't intend on RPing them, is to purchase a non-RP hacker. To speed up the growth, feel free to purchase the insta-grow item - to freeze your hacker where its at, you can buy the item for that.
When will this happen? After the store hits page 1,000. Why? Well, more on that in the next section!
Page 1,000! When .NET Hackers reaches page 1,000 Loki and Rown are planning a big set of changes to really bring this shop to the level we'd like to see it run at.
To start with - Loki will be hiring a colorist or two to aid her with the shop. The shop will be splitting into non-RP and RP-required sales. Loki will be hiring a lineartist for the previously mentioned robot Hackers. The release of Viral Hackers (which will happen in October, regardless, actually) A new shop thread, complete with shiny new graphics and better organization! .NET will be starting version 2.0!
And! The first person to post on page 1,000 will receive a free custom hacker, without the line edits.
Current "Inactive" Hackers These inactive hackers, meaning we've not seen the owner in months, etc., will grow...by the end of the year to an adult stage. This is as far as these hackers can grow and the only way to reactivate them is to recommit yourself to the shop and actively RP for a to be determined amount of time. That is the only way you will receive the elder stage if your hacker has been moved to a "Non-RP Hacker". ^^
