I'm a fan of rebreakable boards. They're definitely more eco friendly and cost effective. That being said, they require more accuracy than wood does. If you hit wood hard enough anywhere on it's surface you can break it. I've split boards into three pieces before. The rebreakables on the other hand only give in one spot. Poor aim and you bounce right off. You also need to increase your speed a bit to counteract the little bit of flexibility they have. I've split a portion of the teeth in the center but had the board otherwise remain in tact because I didn't go quite fast enough.
We use these at our school: http://www.karatedepot.com/tr-bo-01.html

True that. Hey guys, do you think if I can break a black board (hardest), do you think I will be able to break a wooden board (approx 1.5cm to 2cm thick [ 0.5 - 0.75 inches thick ])?

Definitely. Wood is actually far easier to break on average than the rebreakables. If you're breaking a black rebreakable...I would estimate you could breal 2-3 standard 3/4 inch pine boards with no problem.

With normal wooden boards, I just give whatever is left of them to my grandpa, who likes to make bird houses.
Re-breakable are longer lasting, but as mentioned before become weaker with repeated use. But they're good if you don't wanna keep going out and buying new boards to replace your broken ones.

How nice of you giving the wood to your Grandpa! 3nodding ~And a good use for the wood biggrin you are right though, the rebreakable ones do weaken with use, rolleyes and they can prove to be a real pain to reattach sometimes stressed
