My birthday happened recently, and I got quite a lot of money out of it. One grandma gave me a $50 visa gift card, another gave me $10, and three of my friends gave me $20 each. (Another friend gave me a piggy bank! How perfect! lol ) I was planning on spending some of it at Disneyland (because I'm going there around Thanksgiving) and putting the rest in a savings account, but maybe I should buy something to benefit the planet? If anybody has suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Good question. You might read this article about Disney. It seems that the Mouse has been making an effort to go green lately, but they still have a lot of undesirable practices, such as relying on sweatshops for their merchandise.

Haaah, I'd forgotten completely about that!
Damned Disney. Making me stop buying their cute merchandise by using sweat shops. ninja
I guess a savings account it is. I think that'd be the better choice no matter what actually, because I'll be getting interest every month instead of just spending it, then having nothing. Do you have any suggestion as to what bank to open an account in? I was thinking of WaMu, but apparently they're in financial trouble (according to my mom, at least).
