"Fraise," she said, shooting a glare at Oliver that just dared him to say, "Fleck." "The other one's my brother, Hydrus. Don't mind me, I'm just brutally honest about the world, unlike everyone else I've ever met." She did manage to refrain from rolling her eyes. No sense embarrassing herself too much in front of strangers.

Oliver saw and interpreted the glare all to easily. "She likes to be called 'Fleck,' " he told Windross happily, "much as she likes to deny it. It's her favorite nickname." He smiled impudently at Fraise, daring her to contradict him. Or make a comment on his dancing.

Windross nodded politely in greeting to each dragon he was introduced to. "Hydrus, Fr-" he was cut off before the end of the female's name escaped his mouth, raising his eyebrows a bit at the comment from Oliver, smiling a bit and unable to help a shrug, chuckling a bit. "L'right, then; pleasure Hydrus, Fleck," he commented, looking the female over a bit. "S'pose the name does match quite well, dun'nit?"

If looks could kill, Oliver would have been killed by Fraise the minute he opened his big mouth. "It's not 'Fleck,' it's Fraise. Spotty over there seems to delight in giving people unwanted nicknames. I don't care if people think 'Fleck' matches me, 'Fleck' isn't a name at all and shouldn't be treated as such." Her silver eyes darkened. "Besides, it seems rude name and I don't feel it suits me."

"Million pardons, Fl-Fraise," Oliver said quickly. "I suppose I was merely overawed by your regal spotted coat, and you, in turn, mistook a compliment for an insult." He turned to Windross and whispered urgently, "You might not want to call her that again anytime soon. Not where she can hear you, at least." He turned back to Fraise and winked.

"Spottey..." Windross murmured to himself after the nickname was said by the female. He blinked curiously at her, not at all understanding her logic whilst she continued to use nicknames on this other, well, spotted dragon. It didn't make sense. Spots, Spotty, and since she was covered in little white speckles, why not fleck? A soft frown pulled across his face. Oh, this wouldn't do. This wouldn't do at all.
"If you don't like him callin' yah by names like that, then why are yah still callin' him names like tha'?" he asked on confusion, flicking his tail back and forth a bit. When Oliver whispered to him, he nodded a couple times in reply, though he really didn't understand. Winking and confusing 'hints' and such... why couldn't people just be... normal in their speaking? No wonder he never got along with anyone...
