I do tend to get harassed as I go on vent a lot. It's kind of funny to see guys say "Ohh a girl dpsing/Tanking! She's going to suck, put her on ot". Then after the raid, I get told "Oh my, for a girl you actually do a good job at dpsing/tanking! Make sure to check the calendar". Kind of annoying, In I've playing since 04, raid lead many raids without much fail. And guys still think that female players aren't good. But other than the typical tits or gtfo stuff, and the "fat" jokes. I prove them wrong about having female players being bad and fat. But maybe it's just the idiots I've met smile

It's never gotten to the point that people yell at me about being female. they just keep calling me "him" or "he" when talking about me and such. it gets on your nerves but it's better than other things.

I've never really had a problem with gender harassment in WOW. The only time I can mention was when I was farming mobs in stranglethorn and some player didn't like that he had to share space with me and started cursing my gender for some reason. He even went so far as to get on another character after I blocked his first one to continue cursing me out. I reported this harassment razz

I joined a guild a few months back. I think I was possibly one of two women in there. They liked the throw out the 'Make me a sammich!' line every so often.
But there was one guy in there, a 45-year-old guy (I'm 21) who constantly kept asking me to meet up with me, and kept telling me how he wanted to cheat on his wife with me. At first I brushed it off thinking he was just drunk (as he was the first time it happened). I'd done a few farming jobs (2000 basilisk eyes, wheee...) for gold for him and he'd always paid up, so I didn't really want to slap an ignore on him too soon. But it just kept going on and on to the point where he was telling me that I wouldn't stay with my current boyfriend long and then he began tossing various vulgar things about me into the guild chat, making me seem like some kind of 'slut'.
I mainly don't tell anyone my gender because of this. I play both male and female characters, but seeing as a lot of guys play female characters anyway, I go on letting people assume that I'm a guy, unless we get on Vent or something.

Usually i don't get gender harassed. I do on the other hand get class harassed because of being a Pally, and maybe i get more harassment for being a pally because i'm a women. Just not sure. Either way harassment is still hurtful and the people who do don't realized the hurt they are causing people.

In both my ally and horde guild, neither believe I'm a female. (except the ones that are female). Also they don't believe others are female as well.
Although they do treat us as equals, because they believe that we are males ... ?
If anything I get harassed because of my gnome.

I've been lucky enough to get into a couple of guilds where they wouldn't care if i had NOTHING down there, as long as I'm cool to play with. I'm also in a guild that is ALL females. It's very civil, mature, and fan-friggin-tasitc. smile
Mostly, though, I think people think I'm a guy. I throw around words like "dude" and "man" and I cuss like a friggin sailor, so they assume and I let them. Sometimes if a troll is really buggin everyone in a BG I'll pull the whole "I'm not a bro" card in whispers just to get them to talk to me and not harass everyone else... but that's pretty much it. It makes life simpler in the least.
As for the harassment issue... I'm living proof that you don't have to deal with that. Tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine, and find a better guild. Also... don't take hand outs from them, unless you're actually friends. Cause then they'll think that you owe them, and thats no good.
