Muffin of Magic I prefer books, because you can let your imagination run away with you. Movies are predetermined. Also, yeah, directors totally SCREW UP the best books -- Eragon, Inkheart (did you see the previews??), and the previews for the Half Blood Prince were so disheartening... But books are heavier, that's for sure. Eragon is an amazing movie if you pretend you are watching generic fantasy and not Eragon. But all of the other points I wholeheartedly agree with (Harry Potter movies yuck)

For the most part, I prefer books. Books allow me to mentally escape into another world. I know that's cheesy, but it's great. You turn each page, wondering what will happen next.
Movies are nice, and it's cool to watch those scenes come to life. Sometimes the movies aren't what you want to see, and that can be a little disappointing. The best example I can think of is Twilight. The first movie was just alright, but New Moon was enjoyable.
