what helps you guys keep your mind off your tummay? i usually eat before my dad tells me.
i usually have my parents tell me a few days before so i can eat a lot...cause mentally that'll help me

Whatever it is I am fasting for. I've fasted for a missing family member (not my story to tell, so please don't ask), I've fasted for a heavily pregnant friend and I've fasted to know things. I love food and fasting is very hard for me. It's also apparently very hard on me because my husband worries about me when I do. So when my tummy's turning somersaults, I'm day-dreaming of the cool, slightly metal taste of water and my head's aching... I focus my thoughts on my purpose and it helps me get through.

Just don't think about being hungry. Simple as that. Thursday I went 20 hours without eating. From 11 a.m. on thursday until 7 a.m. Friday I didn't eat anything. This was because I was in school, then had a football game right after, then had to go to the E.R. after the game because my hand could have been broken (It only has a sever contusion) then got home, did homework, went to bed woke up and ate. The reason i told this was because my mind was occupied the entire time so thats why I was never hungry.

it is easy when you have something to fast about. not just fasting for fasting.

Yeah I have a hard time with that too. The only solution I have ever found is to fast for something really important. My little sister has downs syndrome and the only time I've really been good at fasting is when I was fasting for her.

lol i eat as much as i can before midnight....and that helps me. but the most effective way, i'v found is to fast for something you really care about.
