"Fair enough," he replied and smiled. They had walked a few more feet when Donnie stopped and flicked his ears, listening.
"I hear water..." he told her. "Must be getting close to a river or something..."
The sound of water made Donnie realize that he was pretty thirsty...

Maiya's listened for a moment, then nodded, "Sounds like it. Maybe we could stop for a moment when we reach it for a drink?" She was a bit thirsty herself, though not tremendously so. She wondered if they would reach the waterfall through this path. She knew that the river leading to the mountain had a waterfall along its path, but she wasn't sure if this path would lead them there.

Donnie nodded and continued on the path. "Of course we can. That sounds like a good idea."
He also thought about whether or not the waterfall would be along this path. He was pretty sure that it would be. Rivers in mountains usually meant there was some kind of waterfall near by.

Maiya decided to voice her thoughts after not thinking of anything else to say. She was pretty sure that Donnie thought of it too, but it might spark another round of conversation. "Do you think we'll run into a Waterfall?"

He nodded. "Yeah, I was just thinking that. Usually rivers that run out of mountains form waterfalls eventually, right?" He smiled. "It'll be nice to see one. Maybe you could sketch one?" He tilted his head to the side and watched to see how she would like his suggestion.

Maiya nodded, "I know there's a waterfall around here someplace, I just don't know if we'll run across it. If we do I wouldn't mind sketching it. Waterfalls are pretty fun to draw." She liked the challenged present by having to depict motion in a still life painting. It was hard, yet something she'd done before and done well.

He nodded and kept walking towards the sound. "Well then," he said, "I hope we come across it then, I'd like to see another one of your drawings."
It wasn't too long before their path twisted around and led them right in front of the waterfall. The rest of the path followed the river. He smiled and looked up at it, and then smiled to Maiya.

"Hey, we did find a waterfall," Maiya smiled back at Donnie, excited about getting to draw something yet again. She looked around for a good view of the waterfall, and started to set up in a place she felt was good. It was a little bit harder to find stone paperweights, but she managed to do it. Patiently she smoothed out the paper.

Donnie flopped down onto a nearby flat topped rock to watch her draw. The sound of the waterfall was relaxing, and it was a nice sight to see. Watching her draw was also a nice sight to see. He chuckled slightly as he thought of this, and couldn't help but smile.

Maiya found that drawing the waterfall was slightly quicker and easier work than the mountain, making fewer minor mistakes and looking up less often. This was probably because Maiya had drawn waterfalls several times before, definitely more often than the view from atop a mountain. The scenery around the waterfall was perhaps even easier, since she had been drawing plants since kithood. After a relatively short time, she looked over the drawing once more for minor mistakes (erasing a few things to edit and improve them) and finally nodded in approval. "It's done!" she stated, removing the paperweights and holding it up for Donnie to see.

"Wow!" he exclaimed, "That was fast..." He admired her picture for a moment and then said, "It looks good." He smiled and hopped down off the rock to sit beside her and get a better look. "You can see the movement of the water in the picture, even though it's not really moving."

She nodded, feeling proud of her ability to convey motion. "Thanks! I've had a lot of practice." This was the first time she's had company while she painted as an adult, and she found that it was more fun having someone there with her. It wasn't just the compliments either, it was just the feeling of having someone she liked around. She felt far from lonely painting by herself, but it still seemed less lonesome somehow.

"I can tell," he said with a chuckle. He looked on down the path that should take them back down the mountain. "Well, should we keep going?" He thought that it might be getting dark soon.
((We need to plot for their next rp to have some sort of hallucination of some sort. Want to help me come up with something? XD; )

"We can keep going for a little while, at least until the sun starts going down," she said, instinctively looking at the sky. The sun was fairly low in the sky, yet not quite near the horizon. Looking at it for a moment, she said, "Looks like we've got about an hour before we have to really worry about the sun."
(Sure! Just bring it to my plotting thread or PM me and we can work something out. 3nodding )
