okay next year im going to march a little bit. and i play oboe. and oboes cant march. so which should i play percussion or flute. [those are my to choices]

I'd go percussion.
Nobody ever hears the flutes.

Depends on what you need... if you have enough percussion, and trust me, you'll know, then play flute. They help support the band and with the right parts, they can be heard perfectly well by the audience.

I'd say flute unless there's a lack of percussion. Also, why can't oboes march?

Some bands let oboes march. I would go for flute though if I were you. Percussion, you would probably be put in the pit (the xylophones, etc. who stand at the front of the field), meaning you would not be marching. If you were put on the field with percussion, it might be difficult to catch up to the other drummers, but if you feel up to it, drumline is pretty fun. With flute, it would be really similar to oboe, it's not as much work as the drumline, and you'd get to march.
