i have no idea how many years of spit there is in my band room carpet but we had a sleepover thing once there and the guys had to sleep in the band room, im glad my BD didnt make the girls sleep in there

Our school is only about 30 years old, and they've replaced the carpet once, so probably about 10-20 years of spit 3nodding
I'm just glad I'm not a brass player, it gets pretty gross back there...
of course it doesn't deter the band members from sitting on it when we watch our show from the weekend before, or when we watch BOA grand nationals on the projector. They know what they're sitting in. It's pretty funny, though, when non-band members sit on the floor in the brass section. We don't tell them why the carpet is discolored twisted

my HS band room didn't have any carpet until a few years ago... yeah it's sad.
one of my friends though... ugh. at her school there is a decorative vase by the door. it's like maybe 3 1/2 feet tall and about a foot wide at the widest and the narrow part at the top is about 4 inches.
it's been used as a "spit dump" for as long as it's been there... about 30 years.
it finally filled up a couple years ago so no one uses it anymore. but yeah. it's this giant vase filled with 30 years of spit.

o_e ew.. Come to think of it...
My band teacher was stacking chairs on Friday, and he said to sit on the floor. I just stood, and hes like."Sit down." I said,"HELL NO! Ya know how much spittle is on the floor mister?!" And all the kids on the floor stood up.

we got new carpet in our band room just a few months ago... so there's no icky stains currently (since there's no carpet up in the brass section... which is where all the spit stains come from)

The band room in high school was not carpeted. Made things kinda gross but at least no stains.

we have to bring paper plates to class so we dont get spit on the carpet.
our teacher has a very short temper.
the band teacher has been at our school for... 20+ years (?)
she lives in spit.
