And so the moon carefully chooses who She calls out to. Her song, timeless and beautiful, barely rustles the leaves on the trees or stirs a blade of grass, but it is powerful; its recipient is powerless to resist their names whisper on the wind.
Amaryllis... Amy sat up in bed slowly, turning her bleary gaze out the window. Though it was late, the full moon was beautiful that night, and as she watched its delicate rays dance down from the sky, she felt a connection to the night that she'd never felt before. As if still asleep, the girl slowly stood, left her bed, left her room, and finally her home behind to follow a call that she couldn't place from a voice that couldn't be anything but otherworldly.
Darkness Everlasting... Dark sat outside silently as she felt the night slowly wrap its arms around her, like an old friend. As the sun set behind the mountains of the island and the full moon rose high in the sky, the girl turned her face to it, enjoying the beauty and the song of the night. This night, however, it was different; she could feel it in her soul, hear it on the wind. She heard it call her name and followed without question into the darkness.
Without realizing it, two strangers worked their way closer to one another across the island. The beaten path they followed led to trails that could barely be seen by the light of the moon, but somehow, their feet found steady purchase as they followed the call of the song of the moon. Finally, they forged their own trail into the virgin forests, a place Amy had never seen before and Dark had only heard about. The tall trees that surrounded them now were so tall and so dense, their canopy blocked out all but the most determined of rays of light that still flecked the ground before them. After what seemed like an eternity of walking and searching, listening and answering, they found a small clearing in the woods, and found each other. But there was to time for introductions; to Amy, an angel appeared in that clearing, materializing as if out of moonlight itself. To Dark, a demon appeared, as if made entirely of shadow. Neither girl saw the other, or heard the message they had to deliver.
"Amaryllis," the angel said softly, turning a kind gaze up to the girl. The creature almost resembled a mouse, with a wolf-like muzzle and large hind paws. The eyes, however, were intelligent, almost human, and the wings and halo were that of an angel. Amy stared in wonder and listened quietly to what the harbringer of light had to tell her.
"Amaryllis," she said again, "we are the Chandra. We are a race forgotten by time, having nearly disappeared from the face of the world. There is still time to end what time has begun, still time to bring us back from the brink of extinction."
"Darkness Everlasting," the demon said quietly, turning accusing eyes to the other girl. Though he resembled the angel she couldn't see, he had no feathered wings or halo. Instead, horns adorned his head, and large, leathery wings suspended him from the ground. Though his large hind claws scarred the ground when he landed, Dark was not afraid, and listened intently to the message from the harbringer of darkness.
"Darkness Everlasting," he said again, "we are the Chandra. We are a race destroyed by humans, having nearly been wiped from the face of the world. There is still time to repent, still time to redeem yourselves for what you have done."
Whether it was a cloud passing over the moon or whether She herself tried to aid in the plight of her children, the girls were not to know. But in that instant, the night grew unbearably dark, and Amy could see the demon standing in front of Dark. But that moment passed, the light returning with renewed vigor, allowing Dark to see the angel that hovered in front of Amy.
"Help us," the Chandra said in unison. "These eggs are the remnants of a time long passed. Take them, raise them, give them homes. For it is on your shoulders that our fate falls, and in your hands our destiny."
"If you choose to accept your own destiny, by your hands we are saved," the angel said with unyeilding hope.
"If you choose to deny your own destiny, by your hands we are damned," said the demon, eyes desolate.
We are the Chandra, forgotten by time, leaving our fate in the hands of two girls in the hopes of finding salvation. We are the Chandra, children of the moon, who hope to some day walk in the light once again. Save us! "Yes," Amy whispered, tears in her eyes at the honor, the ability to help such magestic creatures.
"I will," Dark said softly, eyes set determinedly at the responsibility settled on her shoulders.
"We will return," was their final statement, the angel returning to the moonlight and the demon going back to the shadows from which he'd come, leaving the two girls staring at each other over a small clutch of eggs.
Amy, slightly overwhelmed, took two shaking steps towards them and stopped, shakily lowering herself to her knees before she fell.
"I...I mean, I don't know where to begin." Emerald eyes turned up to the stranger before her, who smiled, if somewhat wryly.
"I do." Directory | World | NPCs

Off the coast of the Isle de Gambino is small island, mostly untouched and unaltered by the hands of man (or woman). This island is said to have been born of magic, and its dense there still--in the moutains, the ocean around it, in the very air. Perhaps that is why people are drawn there despite its lack of many modern amenities, and why such fantasic creatures are found here.
Isle de Lunis is divided into two distinct halves, Sol and Lun, so designated because of their unique shapes. Between the two, nestled in the crook of the crecent moon that makes up the Lun half of the island, is the lagoon, the main source of freshwater on the island. Small creeks and streams branch off from this, providing water to the rest of the island.
Sol is the side of the island that is closest to civilization, its rocky coastline perfect for the ships that sail back and forth between it and the mainland. There is one small landing ships (mostly used for smaller, private plains) that is attatched by a gravel road to the main city of the island. Here can be found the only shopping center, mainline grocery store, apartment complex and bar, along with a select few other things. The majority of the island is composed of forest and beach, broken every so often by dirt roads leading to houses or private businesses, such as Wandering Moons.
To some, this is home.
To many, this is paradise.
Places of importance:
Dark Red: It's here that the chandra were discovered, deep in the magical forests of Sol. This particular forest is uninhabited, and only the most basic of homes would be able to settle here, as there is no easy access to transportation, electricity or plumbing. >.>;;
Blue: The blue marker shows where Darkness Everlasting's house is located, along with the Wandering Moons shop and daycare center. Because she knows people that know people, she's able to have all of the amenities of modern housing without the population.
Violet: Though it couldn't really be considered 'modern,' this is the location of Amaryllis' home. Somewhat closer to the main city, she is easily able to have electricity and plumbing, though transportation is still somewhat difficult on the small, dirt roads.
Black: Here is the main city on the island (and probably the only thing large enough to constitute a city) Cassiopeia. Even as far as cities goes, its not very large, but its here that you'll find the only mall, movie theater, bar, restaurants, and links to Gaia's population at large. Cassiopeia is also a port city, and at the coast is the only port that the Isle de Gambino's boats will travel and drop off passengers. Directory | World | NPCs

Ceara A light hearted angelic child, she was the first of the angelic Chandra ever to be discovered. Ceara is the hope and the promise of the Chandra, she represents the light and the good in their world. With the hope that with the help of Amy and Dark, they can replenish a once forgotten race and save them from the brinks of extinction. Ceara is forever locked in the state of a child, even though her and her demonic brother Dezmin are the only two remaining of the ancients of the species. It was once said that the ancients could change their form to take on whatever age it is that they wished the world to precieve them as. Though Ceara and Dezmin gave up that ability to bring children of their species back into our world. Dezmin The first demonic Chandra to appear, Dezmin is the darker side of the same coin as his twin sister. Appearing first to Dark, he represents the weight of responsibility that she and Amy must bear in reviving the Chandra from the brink of extinction. Though he, too, freely gave his ability to shift his age and shape to help bring the two girls what remained of his race, he is sometimes bitter about his loss, often seeming to resent humans for his loss and the losses of the Chandra as a species. Moonbeam Unlike Dark and Amy, Moonbeam was not brought into the task of reviving the chandra unknowing of the task that was before her. As the guardian of the forests of the Isle de Lunis, she is ever aware of what goes on around her. With seemingly boundless energy and enthusiasm, she helps the two girls on their new quest, helping watch the shop and to find homes for the Chandra that find their way into her home. Its unsure what Moonbeam's actual age is, but she acts to be somewhere in her late teens. Along with her energy, she's incredibly optimistic and cheerful, though a very patient and understanding shows itself from time to time, showing her true maturity and calling. Darkness Everlasting Darkness Everlasting, Dark or D for short is a mysterious sort. She's not one to talk about her past which she tends to keep back in the shadows that always seem to linger near her in some way. Dark has lived on the islands for a few years and is well aware of many of its secrets. Dark at home in the darkness of the night heard the moons call, which she had followed deep into the woods. Without fear in her heart she came face to face with Dezmin and listened to his tragic tale. Along with Amy, a girl she met soon after whom seemed to be the light of day, took on the task to help keep the Chandra from ultimate aniliation. AmaryIIis Amaryllis Lark is a transplant to the island from Barton town, just recently having moved there to find out a little bit more about herself and her past. Though this was why she came, it would not be why she stayed! Called by the moon, she now owns the shop with Darkness Everlasting, working hard at what she believes is an honor bestowed upon the two of them, helping the Chandra, an unfortunate victim to events lost by time. She's not quite as perky as Moonbeam, Amy herself is almost always very friendly and cheerful. Because of her optimistic, humanistic ideas, working with people is an ideal occupation for her. Unfortunately, she also has moments of being naive, with very decisive views of truth, justice, and what is right and wrong. It is possible that this is, at least in part, why Ceara chose her as the 'light' half to her darker counterpart, D. Directory | World | NPCs
