Echo was already slinking closer to the animals. He would have to get within inches of his prey before he could make his move. Anna seemed to follow closely mimiking his moves, she was ready to hunt. Th tall grass brushed against his face as he got closer to the grazers. Being upwind, the elk still had no idea that they where targeted. The closer he got the easier it was to sneak up on them, the grass was taller and he was getting more cautious. The times he'd failed hunting when he was still young was when he got too over confident at the beginning and accidently revealed his position to his prey. He was no only 50 feet away, 40, 30, he counted his progress with excitement. His gut rumbled a little, he was hungry. As soon as Anna got to her position he would move in closer than 10 feet and start the assault.

Anna had been moving at a cautious pace. She felt her mouth slightly open, a soundless hiss erupting from her throat. Her stiff tail moved not an inch as it balanced out her frame. As she neared, she hunkered lower to the ground, the grasses brushing against her skin. Her eyes were dead set the elk, not moving an inch at all. Her breathing slowed to the point where she didn't even appear like she was breathing at all. Just a few more feet....just a few more...

((I'll play the elk for now. Feel free to do whatever you want with her.))
The elk continued to graze drowsily. It was late for her and her child and their companions to be awake, but most of the region's predators were less active at this time of night. It was safer this way, or so she thought. She didn't know that there were predators lurking just a few feet away. As she cropped the last bit of grass within her reach, she took a small step forward to reach some more. Her ears flicked about lazily, listening for danger. While she heard no heavy footfalls, there was something odd about the swish of the grass... Raising her head, she looked around nervously, then shook it off. It was nothing... right?
Alucard's mouth hung slightly open, the smell of the hunt heavy on his tongue. Now was the time for the chasers to make their move. The cow was about to bolt; something had alerted her to the fact that all was not right with her world. Now, he thought as loudly as he could, trying to drive his thought home in Anna and Whatsisname's skulls. Now.

He was now less than a foot from the elk, almost face to face with her. Echo was scared that she would spot his eyes glowing in the darkness, but by this time even that wouldn't matter. He was close enough to begin the attack. He felt his muscles tighten as he prepared to pounce. He crawled closer to the sick elk. He was now 6 inches from her face, and she still hadn't spotted him. The elk bent down to take another bite of the tender grass. She came face to face with Echo, her beautiful eyes widened with terror and confusion. For a few seconds they stared at each other. "I'm sorry," he whispered to the elk. He leaped at her, she moved suddenly as he felt his hooked claws dig into her shoulder. She let out a howl of pain, as Echo held on. "ANNA!" he roared, "LEAD THE OTHER'S OUT," The hunt had begun.

Anna's eyes widened with as much as the surprise as the elk. Her heart busted against her chest as she ran following Echo and his steed. She roughly nipped at the elk's flanks and stomach keeping her in line, her calf squealing loudly following them for some stupidly odd reason. Anna paid no mind to it however, her complete focus was upon the meal and their charge toward the two elder raptors. The rest of the herd gave out random calls and cries of terror, complete chaos within the area. The young raptor's blood thundered in her head as slight fear enveloped her. She had to keep her focus, but with all this confusion..could she?
Anastacia gave a deep snarl as the hunt proceeded. She waited in her spot, slightly annoyed that Echo had stolen the top for the night. But there was still time to regain her honor and glory. She would claim the kill for tonight, no one else. With a twitching claw she gave a mighty cry as the elk closed in. The tribal charged forward claws and teeth at the ready. Getting closer, she jumped latching onto the back of the female, her claws digging into the shoulder blade and side. Anastacia was slightly lopsided, but she managed to hold on, teeth sinking into the throat as the animal began to buck and scream trying to throw its riders.

Echo was glad that the alpha had taken control of the situation. He relaxed slightly but still kept a death grip on the frightened creature. He hoped it would end soon for the sake of the dying elk.
