okay so, Jacob imprinted on a half-vampire. I'm happy that he's found someone else to love instead of chasing after Bella, but really, why Nessie?

Imprinting is supposed to be rare, right? yet about half of the pack has done so, and on girls in the Quilete area.

And imprinting is ensure to pass the werewolf gene, right? And Nessie...err....does she even have reproductive organs? O.o

Honestly, with everything that's happened in the books, I have no idea if Nessie has functional reproductive organs. Female vampires obviously cannot have babies and Nessie is half vampire. :/ And if we want to bring in a thread of logic (which means that this isn't likely at all since Meyer doesn't think things through half the time logic wise) Nessie shouldn't be able to reproduce since most hybrids are unable to breed.

So, Jacob is basically screwed if Nessie can't reproduce, but like everything else in the book, maybe Nessie is "special" enough to reproduce. Then we'll end up with a human/werewolf/vampire creature thing like in the Underworld movies.

Hooray for 12 year old fanfic-like writing. neutral
huza for limited imagination who's to say it wouldn't just be human and technically Jacob is not a werewolf so she would probably not turn into a wolf at all...don't diss the book till you look at every angle it can go neutral I know I'm not right either but still....anyways shes making the big money on the books that even those of you who say you HATE it you bought it and it is on your shelf....just live with it....>,> emo

whoa whoa whoa. Are you implying that NESSIE would turn into a wolf? I meant to say if Nessie could reproduce and she and Jake had a baby, then it would probably 1/3 vampire, 1/3 human, and 1/3 wolf. Sorry if that wasn't clear earlier.

And I never said I hated the book, I loved it, really.

No I think she was talking about IF Jacob and Nessie had a kid. Also If they did, it would be 3/4 human and 1/4 vampire because Jacob is still essentially human even though he can shapeshift (remember what Edward said, that they weren't really werewolves).

Logic says that their child wouldn't be fully human. :/
I know it's fiction, but if they had a human child everything would be up for grabs. That's like saying a tiger and a lion mate and have a liger who then mates with another liger and their child is a pure lion.
I think it's safe to say that SMeyer wouldn't stretch logic that far. At least, I hope not. gonk

Snap. I kept falling. Feeling the humid air
through my fingertips. My eyes looking straight at the sky.

I felt just a bit happy for him.
A little disgusted on imprinting on a half vampire baby.
Why Reneesme.

I was thrilled.

And I love the name Nessie. Better than Renesmee.

1> In the book it said that Nessie will be grown in 7 years
2> Meyers isn't the only one who made a haft human haft vampire baby.. Its been done before..
And its also in the legends, its just not focus on that much...

Also I didn't expect some people who read Twilight to be so closed minded when it came to Breaking Down.. I can't beleive you even like Twilight...

I think you don't know what "close-minded" means.

Some people didn't like Breaking Dawn because it didn't fall in with what they enjoy to read. So they say they don't like it. Saying you didn't enjoy a book is not close-minded. It's stating an opinion. Just because an opinion doesn't align with yours doesn't make it any less right or wrong or "close-minded". I didn't like reading Wuthering Heights all that much. Gonna say I'm close-minded because I simply didn't enjoy a book?

Also, you can't be a Twilight fan whenever you take the opposing view? I read Twilight for an escape, but I see the flaws. I see all the damn flaws. But I accept Twilight as a popular piece of literature. A good, true fan can accept Twilight with it's ups and downs. Sorry that other people don't drool after the book, but still like reading it. :/

I wasn't refering to all who didnt like Breaking Down, and I didnt drool over Twilight either. I simply ment that Breaking Down was quit similar to Twilight but yet people seem to be more judging when it came to Breaking Down. I also don't see how she didnt fall in with the other books. Also I never said people wear closed minded because they didn't enjoy a book. And I never said that anyones opinions were wrong, i was simply just stating my opinion..

Good lord, I was not happy with the imprinting. gonk
So I'm not joining any happy dances about this mess anytime soon.

I thought imprinting was A.) a rare exception as Jacob keeps telling us and B.) a way to ensure that the shapeshifting gene is passed on by procreating.

Just how many of the wolves have imprinted? About half of them? That kind of statistic doesn't exactly scream rarity. Plus, Nessie's half-human half-vampire. Just how does that work out with the keeping the gene going? Can she even have kids at all? She's a walking contridiction.

And then there is Nessie herself. Good God, just who is she? As of now, we don't know that and it makes it hard for me to accept that Jake imprinted on a thoughtless plot device.

Even though I'm super unhappy with this, I won't pass my final judgement on Nessie and Jake until some proof of her having a personality is shown.

I fully agree with you.

It sounded like Meyer got bored and couldn't think of anything better so why not imprint on a hyrbid...that AND I thought she was kidding herself when Bella's baby was half human/vampire.

I wasn't buying it AT ALL.

Though I'm very glad our dear Jakey has someone to look over and love but I was expecting someone....more cooler? xd or older
Sometimes plot-twists can be good...only if done in the right way.

Twist? Are you kidding me? Jake imprinting on Bella's daughter was the most obvious thing in the world.

I agree with Bunny Cup. I think Stephenie just couldn't think of any other person for Jake to imprint on that would make the fans happy so she creates this thing that's almost Bella, but not quite.
Maybe it's just me..but when I was reading all the parts with Nessie..she freakin' creeped me out. I just kept having this image pop into my head of my 2 year old cousin speaking with perfect vocab and grammar drinking blood from a sippy cup. *shudder*

Honestly, no. Not really. I'm a big Jacob supporter, but I felt like I was smacked in the face when he imprinted on Nessie.

After everything he went through, and then getting so close to Leah.. And then "hey look, I'm going to go imprint on Ms. Perfect now."

No, I wasn't too thrilled. Whatever, I'm not the one who wrote the book.
