The Ramones
They're easy songs to learn and play, they teach you rhythm, and they're ALL crowd favorites.
Try out some Sex Pistols (Anarchy in the UK), and look a little more into punk in general. Most of it is pretty simple, and a lot of the songs will go over well in front of a crowd because you don't need more then a guitar and vocals anyways.

Raider83 Smoke on the Water....just like Dime did when he started people who say smoke on the water is the easiest song in the world are ideots who obviously hav'nt listened to the solo. a bit harder than greenday. lol lol

Aything by Blink 182. I would recommend The Rock Show in particular because it's a lot of fun.

I am listening to Rock,Metal,Speed Metal,and a LITTLE bit of SCREAMING Metal.(Anyone know the real name?) I like System Of A Down,Dragonforce,Franz Fredinand,Ozzy Osbourne,... If you like ozzy, Crazy train is a pretty easy song and its fun to learn. So, after reading this, i look up crazy train, and i instantly feel the urge to beat you up side the head. WTF? That solo is freaking rediculous!

The Rawk Hawk I am learning guitar, and I don't know which song to start with! Do you know some I can start with? I am listening to Rock,Metal,Speed Metal,and a LITTLE bit of SCREAMING Metal.(Anyone know the real name?) I like System Of A Down,Dragonforce,Franz Fredinand,Ozzy Osbourne,... The first song i EVER tried to to learn was FCPREMIX. I hadnt played it, but i heard someone play it in guitar hero, and thought "that's the s**t, lets do it!". It sounds hard, but i got most of it down. the hard part about it is remembering where you were during the parts of the song. The breakdown is easy and fun to play. It wont sound like the actual song since you (and i) probably dont have the tech for it, but it's cool to know you can.

Arpeggios From Hell by Yngwie Malmsteen is a pretty easy song that you can build your hand strength with 3nodding
