I was on their school page on Myspace, and it seems like the majority of them don't like the Twilight Series.
I was shocked!
Perhaps it's because it's bringing a lot of weird attention to their town, but come on... Twilight is the best!
I don't know.. what do you guys think?

Umm...I was just in Forks, and it didn't seem like people hated it. And I read a news story and a lot of residents are ecstatic about how they are part of a hit book series.

Probably just because getting retarded e-mails from fans gets tiring after the 74873248905th e-mail Twilight related and how lucky they are and if they've been to the Cullen house. [/exagerationplz]
I mean, it's just a book or irrational love between a human and a vampire. Sure, it was probably cool at first but I can imagine that it would get creepy after awhile. Complete strangers going on your Myspace and telling you how lucky you are for living in the most awesome place in the world and their display name is something along the lines of xXxMrs.CullenxXx.
The only place I'd brag about that's book related is if I was working in the Harry Potter portion of Universal. (In the future, of course.) 'Cause I'd be all like, "Forks? b***h please, I work at the Hog's Head. Beat that." xD

I don't mean to be a necromancer but I wanted to reply here, and Forks opinion in all this is kind of important.
I think if the same thing happened to my town, and I lived in a much smaller town. I'd be kind of put off too. I mean one day you're living your life, the next day you have about 200 or more tourists looking for something to do. I'm sure businesses like the tourist economy, but normal residents and the kids probably don't. I imagine that some of the people going up there try to take pieces back, or leave their mark on things. That could get really annoying. I know what people do because I live in a pretty large tourist city. People scrawl their name on things all the time, and even try to take pieces of our historic monuments home with them! Also, small town people are more modest, less show-offy, so I don't think they'd use it to throw in peoples faces. Plus revealing your location is dangerous on the internet, especially since a lot of people know exactly where Forks is now.

Alright..so..I live in the Vancouver area so I kind of see where these guys are coming from. Vancouver is pretty big and usually the setting of the movies being filmed here isn't actually Vancouver (but it's cheap to film here so whatever) so we don't have tourists coming to visit the sites or anything like that. But I've seen a few things being filmed in my area. I've had 2 episodes of Supernatural and the movie Juno filmed in my neighborhood.
I can tell you that even though it's cool my subdivision is being featured on TV, it can get pretty damn annoying. It takes alot of people to film and they have enough cars, trucks and trailers to fill up a whole block. It's annoying that they close up the roads and I have to go around and take a route that takes twice as long just so I can get to school. At night, when I'm trying to sleep they usually have a few of those huge a** 4 foot diameter spotlights blinding me as I'm trying to sleep.
So..even though I've only experienced the filming part of living in a famous city, I get why they might not like the whole Twilight craze. I can only imagine what they have to go through
