How come Europeans don't seem to know about European Languages Day?

Dunno... a lot of these sorts of festivals/holidays etc are indescreet (sp?) ninja I'm a child and I don't know when international kids' day is gonk (yes, there is actually an international kids day, I just can't remember when it is >.<)

There's also a world abacus day. It's on my birthday. xd

But you're right. These sorts of holidays tend to be unknown.though, we used to get school lunch calenders that had them entered for some reason. YAY it's almost European Language Day again!

Yes, it is today? And you know what I've found? This year is the International Year of Languages. Hurray for languages!!

Some kids at school did an assembly on it and I. Wanted. To. Scream.

They were all saying how wonderful it is that we have so many languages in Europe etc etc (which I agree with, by the way ^.^) but what annoyed me was that the entire thing was in English. Our school is supposed to be bilingual. They didn't even mention Welsh. Not once. You'd think they would have, right? Ugh x__x

I got very angry about the whole thing redface but I was glad that it was European Languages day ^___^
